What is fast IGLING?
Fast IGLing is basically "on the go", theres no specific strat they are running;

example: "lets take garage", they take garage and kill one, and execute site or; they try to take garage and they get countered, quick reaction to C where they pivot in through art or mid. It's very hard to explain but i will post some gameplay examples below.

• beginning of pistol round, you can see OPTIC go for a default; they take early south B main and walk through under to contest for north B main. keep in mind YAY's trip on the north side of A main from dish, they kill 1 and get the pick onto SACY tower; LESS hits trip and victor spots 2; so FNS's quick counter reaction is run to A.

• onto a more important round, NRG are playing a default with alarmbot holding B push and KJ spotting the C contest/push. NRG decide to contact up behind a early NEON wall(fake pressuring signal,) this couldve played out differently but sadly ETHAN was too far to hear any footsteps so he assumes they are pressuring for real. Unfortunately the round goes to shit as EG play it perfectly and FNS's instant reaction is for KJ to push C and take space, KJ knows there is no pressure applied on the B push and can relay information to FNS, the original IDEA in FNS's head was to probably rotate through spawn killing heaven and the B rotate whilst ardiss picks off demon1, even though this plan kind of went to shit; FNS got 2 and s0m then rotates to the open C site. perfect example of fast reactionary calling.

what is methodical calling?
Methodical calling is basically routine calling, its basically like chess where you have opening set in stone rules for playing; most IGL's who call methodically always know what site they are going to hit, they're mid rounding is also 2nd to none; now this doesn't mean they can't change the site they are hitting it just means they have a set goal.

example: "Hey lets default, take garage, smoke for the A lurk and lets play for mid, we are going to try get a pick in middle and group up for B", this means the B lurker/default man will eventually know this is the site they are hitting so he will need to play methodical, not giving his life up.

• Now as you can see here, NAVI are defaulting, with what i think is the intention of hitting B(the way SUYGETSU has left the trip, and how ANGE1 is defaulting for B!); NAVI start by taking all of mid very fast(no counter pressure denied for them), they then burst right into B. Pause making FNATIC question if they have lurked up A(fnatic have absolutely no map control so they are lost of information). Then they immediately rehit and absolutely wreck FNATIC, the post plant was questionable but yk ANYWAY.

conclusion: what is statistically the better IGL calling style? for me it is methodical, ANGE1 plays and expects to play to the perfection of the strat in his head, I think its why SAADHAAK had gotten the upper hand on OPTIC in the finals, I think a mixed version of both fast IGL calling and methodical IGL calling is the meta currently especially with ASTRA 5 stars and double initator meta.
