People have been deluding themselves about Aspas for the whole season, he hasn't looked great on MIBR but everyone acts like he's Thanos. He didn't adapt to the Yoru meta and Verno/Cortezia were more impressive than him during Stage 1. He's obviously a great player but the "best duelist in the world" claims should be stopped by now.
Spring has been incredible, juicy great too but yuicaw has been meh
I'm surprised he hasn't found a t1 team yet tbh, especially throughout 2024 where EMEA looked even worse
Aspas has been extremely overrated all season long, he didn't look good on Waylay and failed to adapt to the Yoru meta, and that should've ranked him below other duelists but somehow everyone still had him top 3-5 for Toronto.

I don't know why people give a shit if someone is "complaining" or not. Aren't people criticizing NPCs like Tarik or other twitch streamers that have zero opinions or hot takes of their own and have to follow whatever their chat says so they don't piss anyone off?
He's had "off" or mid games since joining MIBR, but that's mainly because his teammates have looked more impressive than him or the enemy team just completely avoids him. Verno and Cortezia had some outstanding games throughout Stage 1, and honestly looked better than Aspas.
BLG actually played quite well against TL, I think it's going to be a close game.
Is Lysoar the definition of regional merchant? There was a time last year that he looked great during the regular season then completely flopped in Shanghai, now same thing happens again. He was probably the #2 player for Wolves during split 1.

I think KRU is one of those teams that would need a complete rework to reach a new peak. Like add more staff or swap 2 players. I really don't see this core doing anything exceptional. Getting Dante might give the team a new energy. But the thing is, these players are some of the best of LATAM. There aren't many obvious upgrades.

Face of Brazil, longevity and Riot has heavily pushed him as one of the top stars of the game so now there's kind of a sheep mentality around Aspas being considered the undisputed goat. Like right now it's hard to argue Aspas being a top 3 player in the world, even a top 3 duelist might be a stretch but somehow he's ranked top 3 going into Toronto? I think he's undoubtedly one of the best val players tho.

the Game of Thrones book series was objectively the best fantasy written since Tolkien (books 1-3 that is) and the show did an excellent job until Season 4 or 5
It's pretty crazy to see how low people rate AOT and Game of Thrones now compared to how they were rating those series while they were airing weekly, goes to show you how failing to wrap things up affects the publics view of the entire show

Jemkin was thanos throughout stage 1, I don't have a ton of hopium for RRQ making it far in Toronto (they're a hard team to trust) but Jemkin deserves to be mentioned as a top player going into Toronto

EDG don't need someone with amazing stats, though it would be a bonus (+slowly like everyone says) but they really need a dependable support player, jieni was finding little impact with his frags or support util

Mongolz in particular I think is going to be a case of "what could've been" because I'm sure there's a ton of hidden talent in Mongolia waiting to be scouted. Looking at how well Mongolz has been doing in cs it's really unfortunate that they're leaving val so early

Meteor on an all time list feels kind of like recency bias, maybe there's an argument for him being the GOAT of APAC since he helped get them both their trophies though. But part of me feels that Mako is better despite Meteor reaching the greater heights.
It's hard to trust FNC imo, they haven't been able to reach any great heights since 2023. The internationals they've been attended since then have produced disappointing results. Their individuals have been hot and cold this season which isn't a great sign. TH are in a better spot with their only downside being Benjy not in form.
