north american valorant was a huge bubble, once things settle down, some of these orgs will return to the tier2 scene with appropriate salaries and realistic expectations for their teams
so 9-6 curse going into eco? doesn't seem that much of a curse
aaron leonhart is the most badass name in all valorant prove me wrong
I'm not saying they won't, but if we're basing our predictions on their history records, optic will have to get through an european team before getting their revenge match
Remember optic never lose a revenge match
Remember optic never win against EMEA
Nobody is coming here with the "cinderella run" "miracle" bullshit. Paper Rex are legit and everyone knows it
pass me the copium
nah but seriously if they give them for free it will just fill up with cs frogs that will fucking sabotage the event LMAO
I believe it's a mix of both, there are regions were third party tournaments are more common than others (particularly in NA). I don't see why Riot would allow 3rd parties in NA but not in other regions, so either they're really stupid or organizers actually don't care that much about making events, but, I'm certain that they do prevent large tournaments, at least they prohibit VCT teams to play in those, so I believe teams could technically sabotage VCT and exist just with third party events, I just don't think there are any teams nor tournament organizers willing to take that risk.
they're leaving space at the end of the year for third party organizers, and to be precise, third party organizers can perfectly do events if they want already, it's just that the teams have already decided that they want to stick by riot's system
yeah I heard 4 years, but it's basically confirmed that there wont be relegations though. I think riot just wants a set list of names to advertise around and not have a new face every year and potentially a big team going down, probably to sell ingame skins, banners, etc.
yes, you said nats wouldn't play breach and that instead hoody would play breach, but when meddo played breach, hoody was playing entry, is nAts going to entry? Also meddo played some sova, so you have problems there too. (I said this in my comment btw but I don't know if you caught it)
all the rumors say the spots are given away in a time contract. Why do you think they are giving them away for free?
read again fren :)
isn't it weird to change three players and still have the same igl problem? nukkye has said that he doesn't wan't to continue IGLing if I'm remembering correctly, also nAts roles don't work that well because he'd still have to play sova sometimes, and hoody was playing entry when meddo was playing breach (don't think nAts would be the best on that role). I guess I don't understand why you would want a 1 to 1 replacements on each role when one of the main problems of G2 was that their roles didn't mesh well
Na was bound to have teams drop rosters with the high salaries, hopefully, things will settle somewhere in the middle with teams that believe in the system with lower salaries
Where’s the “I wouldnt be surprised if DZ made it” thread
Roles look weird, who is playing sova/breach? Who is IGLing? What is nAts playing?
he really wasn't, and it's not like 100T would really care about that when they signed will stellar and bang who weren't that crazy on tier1 before they joined
teams like KC KOI not being able to join LEC will not be the case in valorant since it's not franchising, the orgs won't own any spots, they will just be on a time contract with rito. If Riot wanted to kick a team, it would be much easier than in LoL
Pros can indirectly or directly advertise it, normal people can’t
can't wait for masters to end so I can watch real valorant again
unironically though I think they're doing something like this with the in-game tournament mode and the so called "path to pro" section of their 2023 format reveal website
Na valorant was a bubble waiting to burst, I still have to see how other regions orgs handle their non-partnership, and how they manage regional leagues
the price is not only determined by the value of a player, but also by the needs of both the org buying and the org selling. Acend and cNed are of course going to ask way more to a new, rich and APAC based org like Bleed than to say 100T or G2, for example
I dont defend it yet, I just disagree with a lot of the arguments that are being used
How do you get from “they have not told orgs their plan for t2” to “they dont have a plan for t2”?? They’ve said that there will be a tier2 scene when they announced partnership earlier this year and emea’s vrl is a pretty good indication of where they’re going
g2 icebox comp was a common comp back in the day, they just did a jett -> chamber 1 to 1 change
Almost all of the teams in EMEA's vrl knew that they had no chance to get to challengers with the spots available, yet that didn't stop them from still competing and giving light to talented players that have already found space in tier 1 (alfajer, musashi, and more in the future)
A lot of these is nonsense, NA valorant was since the beggining a big bubble with super high salaries and buy-outs compared to other regions. Even if Valorant came out and said that franchising is not happening anymore, a lot of orgs would eventually drop their teams because they're paying too much money for mediocre results. The solution was and always will be a way for tier2 orgs to compete, a regional leagues system (hopefully with more matches), that is included in riot's plan.
Ghosts, Soniqs, Complexity I could agree, I just don't see them over the other ones, and even if I did I still don't see them top 6/7 candidates
who are you placing them over then?
sustainable is a funny word in this scenario, none of these tier2 orgs were making money and were 99% never making it out of open qualifiers
