Yeah.
Though for lan events, TL did reverse sweep b4 to qualify for gc champs

Guild x is a weird one. Lost to eventual finalist SR round 1 in a tight game. Then lost to tournament favourites c9 in the losers bracket.

I think c9 was just hugely consistent over the event and they just faced c9 when they were "hot".

Im not even sure if guild shouldve been the number 1 emea seed coming into this.

Imo i was more disappointed in c9
i think kru was also another team that didnt live up to some peoples expectations

She did compete in tournament before she was 16 though.

https://www.vlr.gg/42907/oxxgen-esports-vs-chatbanned-champions-tour-game-changers-series-i-emea-qf

she wouldve been 15 at this time, no?

posted about a year ago

well she got 1 award atleast D:

posted about a year ago

Well she perfomed very well and was vital in their playstyle.
Doesnt help that 3 of her team mates are bottom 5 acs

posted about a year ago

100% should've added her in the honourable mentions atleast.
Very consistent performer
Would've been in higher regard if they closed out the series though

posted about a year ago

yeah I was debating on putting her in over Alexis for the under appreciated awards. But i felt like Alexis was slightly better in some areas

Congratulations to G2 GOZENS for winning Game Changers Berlin
After a great tournament here are my awards.

Biggest surprise: Festival.

  • Despite finishing 6-8th, Festival was a bright spark for Fennel GC
  • The lynch pin of the dynamic approach Fennel displayed
  • Ending the tournament with the second highest acs 259.2
  • 48% of first kills in Fennel games involved Festival (this is her getting either fd or fk), the highest in the tournament

Statistical anomaly: Bob

  • Carrying on her individual brilliance from NA GC, Bob had another good tournament.
  • However a quiet game by her standards vs SR hurts her mvp chances
  • Highest acs, Highest k:d, Highest adr, Highest hs% , Highest kpr. Bob is crazy (You all knew this already)

Under appreciated: Alexis

  • Whilst only achieving 4th place, Alexis performed well yet again
  • Rarely caught out with 7 first deaths across 194 rounds played
  • Highest kast and apr in the event.

MVP: I was torn between Mimi/Mary but i decided to go for Mimi

  • Consistent high level performances throughout the whole event
  • Helped to start the reverse sweep in the final vs sr (with a monstrous 368 acs ascent game)
  • Second highest k:d , 3rd highest apr

Other players I felt did well:

  • Conir: Despite an underwhelming tournament from KRU , Conir had a great showing
  • Bstrdd: A great tournament from her overall, especially on the jett and kayo
  • Flowerful: Potential mvp of the event if they closed out the series, a pivotal piece in the SR machine. Hopefully she keeps going from strength to strength in future events
  • Mary: Runner up in the mvp debate (imo), another great performance from the young gun. The sky is the limit for her.
  • Sonder: Another high level consistent performer for SR. Without the reverse sweep she may have been a candidate for mvp. She was sondering the competition
  • Glance: Under rated performer for g2, incredible lurking ability. A crucial part of the g2 crown

Any player stood out for you in particular, feel free to comment.
Also any suggestions/complaints lol

I mean its about comfortability?
you may aswell replicate your setup from home as thats is what you are used to.
the difference from playing a tournament in eu/br will be pretty non-existent.

1 of the reason eu was so bad at iceland2 was all those visa issues

posted about a year ago

the difference for teams playing in different regions/crowds is pretty negligible and shouldnt be used as an excuse

posted about a year ago

yeah that was crazy

posted about a year ago

na teams only win in iceland because they are scared of the crowd.
