Very interesting.
Kinda surprised that they almost decided to go with Stunner because he lacks the eu connections other coaches had (maybe im wrong).

Now what will Vitality do?

posted 11 months ago

Yeah this is a really good list.
Probably put johnqt over leaf.
Does feel wrong leaving out eeiu aswell, maybe put him over c0m.

Also honourable mention to cryo, he did lack the consistency over the year (and placements) however he had some super high highs.

Zmjjkk good lord.
Pressure makes diamonds.
The things he was doing in this final is absurd.

Considering how Lev were playing at shanghai compared to now, they have made some big steps forward in recent times.
Will be interesting to see what they decide to do going forward, they might not need to change anything however I could see them making a few moves.

GEN.G for sure, especially when you consider the general consensus of the roster going into the year.
Sentinels also had a very successful year though.

Yeah he went nuclear on that map.

He could be in contention for the first player to win two international mvp's.

posted 11 months ago

That looks promising.
Has xeus not been trialling?

posted 11 months ago

He's been very good for a long time.
EDG struggling internationally made people forget how good he is.

posted 11 months ago

He's one of the players that have benefited the most after these changes.
Every single one of his event rating have gone up, with the impact being larger on his "lower" rated events.

| Event | Change in rating value | R | R2.0 |
|-----------------|------------------------|------|------|
| COPENHAGEN 2022 | +0.05 | 1.11 | 1.16 |
| LOCKIN 2023 | +0.02 | 1.28 | 1.30 |
| TOKYO 2023 | +0.02 | 1.29 | 1.31 |
| CHAMPS 2023 | +0.06 | 1.17 | 1.23 |
posted 11 months ago

His stats are kinda skewed because he's had 3 very short runs at international events.
2021 was a very strong year for him though and that pushes him up, when i add champs 2024 he will fall sadly.

posted 11 months ago

I don't think they need to change anything in order to win a title honestly.
Both Icy and Trent, in my eyes, could have a lot more impact on rounds and games that they haven't shown this year.
A meta shift or just time could unlock this potential.

Happy with this change although I don't think it will have that big of an impact.
The most likely effect is that we will see one of geng/drx academy rosters in tier 2.
I cant see this impacting eu/americas at all.

Seems odd.
If they needed to replace Kpzet they could've tried their hand at someone else much sooner instead of waiting for jesse (who might have made ascension) to finish competing.

posted 11 months ago

Jesse was playing in the Play-ins though? So surely the preparation would not be at the same level?
I guess with the weight of ascension, teams will do anything to try and gain any marginal improvement to win.

Jesse is good, probably a slight upgrade, but I don't think this move moves the needle on Barca's ascension hopes that much.

The amount of unlosable rounds they lost on icebox would've kept them up all night.

Recently it's a coinflip each game on which FNC shows up.
The proper team playing fnatic, playing as a unit.
Or the other FNC where the players feel so disconnected from each other, so many instances of players trying to compensate and end up digging themselves deeper.

Lotus hasn't looked the same since Loud beat them at champs.
Then more weaknesses were exposed by KC.
It's still a good map but it is nowhere near as unbeatable as it was last year.

Haven has looked most comfortable for FNC as of late.
Wouldn't be surprised if they pick it first versus g2 and try to get lotus/abyss as a decider map.

1) this is incredibly disrespectful to the sport, to the viewers, to the opponents and to the tournament organisers and should not be allowed by RIOT in the first place to jump off like that to deny a round.
Maybe it is actually not allowed and if thats the case, FNC should be fined.
But if this is actually allowed or wasnt predicted by RIOT in the first place, thats on RIOT.
I spoke about this potential problem out loud on day 1 of Abyss release.

2) i understand that this negates TH of getting 1000 creds and 5 orbs for killing the FNC players
BUT i think this is literally trolling/throwing a round by FNC. In VALORANT every round is winnable, every round is doable and you just robbed your team off that chance.
Not only that, TH didnt have to use a single utility piece to win this round which saves shitton of cash, and didnt have to rebuy any shields.
If you wanted to troll this round, FNC, at least do it properly and jump off after your opponents planted, so you would waste more time and make them use util.

Blaming Jake Sin for orgs importing korean players is an odd choice.
Japan has a high level of imports because it has a high level of investment, they can attract good international players with good salaries.
All of the import rules and regulations are standard across the VCL leagues.

And you are getting annoyed at a region that has been completely outcasted by riot games throughout its lifetime finally getting some exposure into the t2 scene. Mongolia was stunted as a region because of how riot approached the nation, it only stayed alive due to strong efforts from the Mongolian esports community.

Besides, VCL japan is getting expanded with more teams.
Compared to SEA which has now merged 6 sub regions.

They flipped a switch and are very good right now.
Zekken in particular has found his form again, which was so pivotal in their madrid win.

However that DRX game should've gone to 3 maps.
DRX really messed up round 24 on sunset, Buzz over swung and stunned his own team mate in the process resulting in them losing a 5v3.
Ngl, Sentinels probably would've taken icebox but it would've been interesting to see.
