Where in my comment did I say that G2 was a top team? My point is that G2 went from being a dominant team decades ago to being knocked out of qualification for the first international LAN by the team that usurped them in an open qualifier. There's no more room left for a redemption arc. Ya hate to see it.

aboslutely insane that one of these teams aren't going to the EMEA finals or Iceland, and it's being decided in the qualifier.

yeah sorry couldn't remember the url off the top of my head so i had to go ask a friend for it

It'd be very difficult for VLR to track because of the sheer amount of Tier 3+ players in our database due to open qualifiers and select lower tiered events. It would require the introduction of some sort of notability threshold.

Liquipedia already has a similar implementation and currently has an automatically generated list of free agents who have pages

You think C9B is deserving of a Challengers slot? Where do you rank them in NA?

posted about 3 years ago

this team has been mismanaged so badly, there's no reason these players should be getting these results

NSG have already announced which games will be streamed, and sadly this game was not included. If a game in this Round of 32 does not have a stream assigned to it, it is not being streamed.

CLOUD9 BLUE SLAYERS vs Ninja

They have to be set manually by our coverage crew and most of the early rounds are automatically not sent through the scorebot.; we'll try to set the big matches to be sent.

ShahZaM is super cool; even with TenZ on the team, without giving him the proper support and space to let him shine, Sentinels wouldn't have been as dominant as they were in the Masters. There was obviously a lot behind the scenes that went down and the fact he was able to get a playbook in that worked with TenZ was amazing.

one team globally

An organization can't have more than one team ANYWHERE in the world, unless it's a secondary women's team.

posted about 3 years ago

Crazy how this team went from being cNed jail to taking a map off FPX. Go Acend!!!

posted about 3 years ago

What? Where are people getting this multi-region nonsense? It's just one team globally period, with an exception for a women's team.

I love CS:GO and it's still thriving, but a complete and utter lack of support from Valve is severely hindering the potential of the game, especially in untapped markets like Asia, Brazil, and notably North America, where the game only gets support from maybe one organization.

Valorant has obviously become a strong contender and it's up to Valve to get up to speed to respond to actual competition. Though, considering how little they've done in the wake of the pandemic for Dota 2, I'm not holding my breath. :<

My guess is that they wanted to make this a LAN (with a single-elimination bracket like FS), but weren't able to secure everyone to travel with the current state of Brazil, so they had to revert it back to online and didn't change the format back to a double-elimination bracket.
