This is not a Sentinels hate thread but this iteration of Sentinels simply won't succeed and here's why. The players and their roles on the team simply aren't good enough to succeed. If we look at every other top tier team, such as Optic, Cloud 9, LG, XSET, etc, they all have a comp that Sentinels can't play. Each have their 1 Chamber main (yay, leaf/mitch, bdog, cryo), 1 duelist/flex player (victor, leaf, mada, zekken), 2 initiator flex or sage (crashies/fns, xeppaa/xeta/vanity, tigg/dazzle, bcj/dephh) and the controller players (marved, vanity/curry, moose/tigg, ayrin). Then you look at Sentinels roster of Tenz, Shahzam, Sick, Dapr, and Kanpeki and the roles they play. Tenz is a duelist player who wants to entry and create space. Shahzam is the igl with plays initiators. Sick is forced into the smoke role. Dapr is a sentinel player that plays viper occasionally. Kanpeki is the initiator flex player. They lack a Chamber main because none of these players fit into the role Chamber players. Tenz can't make the plays he wants on Chamber as compared to Jett. They lack a second duelist/flex player. Kanpeki is only on other initiators and no duelists. That further forces Tenz on Jett because they have no other entry/duelist players. Shahzam is the main initiator player which is whatever. Dapr is a sentinel player, something that pretty much no successful team has anymore. Even if Sentinels want to have him player Chamber, he's not able to play how other Chamber mains play because that's not his playstyle. Then Sick is stuck on a supportive role when he is one of the best flex players in the region. They either need to force player roles around to incorporate key agents that other teams use, which isn't ideal, or just rebuild the roster. The reality I think is the team needs to at least drop either Tenz or Sick. There's only room on the team for one of them to be an entry player and the other needs to be replaced with a Chamber main. I'm including Sick here because he should be taken of smokes and be put on duelist/initiator flex. Then drop Dapr for some dedicated smoke player.
