I would not want map queue times to be influenced by the playerbase like that. It's that simple. I don't want to be sitting in queue for 10 minutes and then looking up some stats website and finding out how the trends for right now affect my wait time.
I know "spamming 300 times" is hyperbole but this really sounds like a you issue. Check your tracker and show me if you're actually getting Abyss substantially more often than other maps.
That's my point...? How are your preferences gonna change if you deliberately avoid new ones as much as possible because you don't want to lose RR?
Exactly, like if you aren't queueing up with this attitude then you shouldn't be playing a competitive game
Then any time a new map that I like drops I'd still have to sit through 10 minute queues because of all the cowards who put it low priority out of fear of losing RR learning it
Yes. I didn't download Valorant in 2020 to play Ascent until the end of time. I enjoy playing this game and I want to learn new maps when they drop.
Hell no. I have already seen way too much of Ascent and Bind, and not enough of Fracture and Lotus. I don't want it to be even more lopsided just because gamers hate change and blame new maps for being hard stuck.
And then the game would slowly die over time because gamers are a bunch of babies who will avoid the new maps because learning is hard, all the while complaining about how the game is stale (wonder why?)
Double senti with Deadlock might be relatively popular. Gravnet is very strong on both sites, and the wall can really slow down lurks or fuck up routing.
I'd guess most teams will run solo Astra and double initiator though. Brim/Viper with solo initiator feels much weaker now than it did in 2023.
So it started as QUADRUPLE initiator? I respect the audacity but damn
Well, it's your team getting smoked, not mine.
Please don't let alecks see this or he'll make PRX run it on Breeze
I see the vision but... no...
Also Vyse?? How many flashes could you possible need on Lotus?
If you wanna go hyper aggro flash abuse run Raze Gekko Breach Omen Chamber like dropping Fade is still kinda troll but at least you can capitalize off your own teammate's util
Breach with no duelist is insane work
But Astra can solo maps that Viper can't, because you need to have flexible smokes. The individual meta of each map is a separate topic from their holistic roles on a team and the type of vibe you're playing with.
What are his subclasses
Also this is too convoluted. Each role has two subclasses max. Senti is just trip vs support (sage and deadlock). Initiator is just recon vs flash. Skye, Breach, Kay/O, and somewhat Gekko all have two flashes and are picked based on what other gimmick they offer.
Controller is more defined by exec vs lurk. All but Viper and Astra have range-limited utility that helps to hit site quickly, while those two have utility that is inflexible or slow (respectively) in exchange for getting to play wherever they want.
He'll get carried to champs and then have his scheduled yearly match MVP game at grand finals, trust
The Quarry is a hilarious game in co-op mode. It's a playable cheesy horror movie
Next act removes Ascent and Sunset and adds Fracture and Lotus
I don't know what this is supposed to mean
But is it not still literally the fruit
Also biting into an orange raw is just as good
I like the one with Skye and Sage meditating on a mountain together
Fellow Ascent haters UNITE
What I'm getting from this is that nobody likes Abyss
Didn't realize that's actually a somewhat balanced comp. Am I cooking...?
Bro just hates Bind (me too)
Haven
Split
Icebox
Fracture
Pearl
Lotus
Sunset
A good glass of pulpy orange juice after eating a salty meal is unmatched
I am just begging to see anything other than Ascent comps. Idc if it's Yoru, Iso, Gekko, Harbor, or Vyse I'll take it please
Why do people make such a big deal about paying for skins like it's an ethical quandary
Valid for you but not everyone enjoys sitting in the backline and spamming enemies who can't see you
Good I genuinely don't get what people see in Omen on Haven. Recall smokes give you so much space practically for free.
Sweet, I love games with a parry mechanic. Thanks for the rec
Much bigger game than I thought it was gonna be.
For real! I got lost so much trying to navigate that world. I generally prefer combat in these games, if that tells you anything
I haven't played the second one yet, but I literally gave up on Hollow Knight (and Celeste) because I got mad at the platforming, and I still beat Blasphemous twice. There's a couple boss fights that are challenging but it's pretty easy overall for a metroidvania
I know you said you're taking a break from Metroidvanias but I recommend adding Blasphemous to the list. It's fairly easy/short, and the atmosphere is unparalleled.
It's not that. Imagine the CEO of Redbull sits in on a game and asks riot employees "Hey what's that crouching dance they're doing? What does it mean?"
Ben Prunty so based, that man cooked with the FTL soundtrack
And then you have no smokes for 40s because riot hates their water child
Depends on where you want to overheat for the site hold and whether you have any lurk players. Usually A link is a better spot to push so I'd smoke C link
This is a very abstract question but it's initiator imo. Yeah controller has big impact over the pace of a round but initiator diffs are brutal to overcome
We can all agree senti is the least though
Yes they are flashy but frankly it takes a lot more raw talent to be a good duelist than a good ini/controller, when it comes to players that are already of a pro caliber.
Most of these guys can learn to master utility, coordination, optimal timing, etc. but a duelist has to make very quick decisions and win more uncomfortable duels to stand out.
