Honestly though, the skill of the general player base has improved so rapidly over the past couple years that it does feel too much sometimes. My mechs have always been on the weaker side and now there's just too many games I'm losing because of whiffing in duels. It's tough.

The serious answer is that Rankers are actually competent and do have strategic depth. Their performance so far would not be easily replicated by taking five other random radiants and having them run it down. We'll see how they hold up against better teams though.

The other three are the main core though. It wouldn't be out of the question to find replacements who are cracked aimers

I don't see how that disproves my argument. They're going to be prepared for several games' worth of rounds because they're probably the most studious team out there.

My point isn't that it's all they do, just that they do over-rely on defined strategies and tend to get outcalled in drawn-out, scrappy series.

They're still better than most teams at improvising, but when we're talking about the best of the best, they aren't #1 at that particular aspect.

I think it's that they overemphasize set plays and anti-strats to the point where they end up looking lost when the stratbook runs out.
