some dude made a ton of threads about how NA > EU, said EU people then made their threads in response.

very simple plot. police raid on an apartment building, but shit happens. lot of martial arts and the choreogrpahy is insanely good. story leaves a lot to be desired but the action, music, and cinematography carry the movie so hard. Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim (Mortal Kombat, Fast & Furious), and Yayan Ruhian (John Wick 3) all star as leading actors, and all of them are insanely talented martial artists.

It's a bit iffy as they all have their own circuits, but they all participate in APAC LCQ.
You could rename the APAC circuit to SEA, but OCE is in there too.
The server region of APAC is SEA+OCE+JP though, which seems to be the fairest method of definition imo.

it is kinda crazy how good EU is at gaming.

Considering Surf had his second ever tournament and was playing professionally for the first time and had maybe 3 months of experience prior to Masters, Xerxia did insanely well.

APAC got 3rd. Nuturn at Reykjavik 2021.
APAC also got 3rd this Masters. ZETA.

I would rate overall performance as nAts > Derke, but recently Derke is the better player. Berlin nAts was unbeatable and Champions nAts pretty much singlehandedly won them Fracture and Breeze in GF.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah. I feel bad for him, because even though he's obviously getting a lot of money from his streams, it doesn't mean he should be able to take most of the unnecessary hate that gets to him. It's even worse because the hate threads are all about calling him a "rat". Like, give the guy a break lol

Summit never really liked the game to begin with iirc

posted about 3 years ago

the level of harassment shaz gets daily on this site is overblown. i can understand not liking the guy but i can't imagine what it'd be like to wake up every day to read posts like this. His "rat" days were in a completely different game and he's still being called that even though it's been years.

The US high-school/collegiate sports system is pretty big and well-funded, which helps create the notion that sports is a very viable and achievable career compared to other countries, and I believe it was Eisenhower (and JFK who built upon it) who also rolled out a fitness policy for American citizens, urging them to be more fit and healthy.

Disagree, Dep is mechanically insane, but he is just nowhere near consistent enough.

Seoldam above Bazzi imo.

Yes, Zeek was Champions Finals MVP.

Zeek, I think playoffs was when Marved decided to step up. Yay was completely shut down on the first 2 maps against DRX, and Marved clutched up a ton vs ZETA. I guess Yay performed to his best during GF though.

true. This is how I felt about APAC. I'm happy that LOUD did your region proud. Based Trembolona.

Hard agree and thank you! Yeah, I was happy when Nuturn got 3rd place but I really wanted to see Asia in general do well and prove that Nuturn didn't fluke their way to 3rd, and for us to get that coveted 1st place. Prove that our continent can be the best if they wanted to, and that CS is the way it is solely because Valve didn't support our early scenes. PRX, X10C/XIA, TS, DRX, and especially ZETA, proved that there is a big possibility for Asia to be a top region (if it wasn't already) and we should be given respect as competent players. None of that EU/NA silver = APAC/KR/JP radiant talk!

I was a very competitive person growing up, so I think it would be nice if us Asian players had a team to look up to in tac FPS games. Koreans have Faker and SKT in League, for example, but I know that other APAC countries don't really have a team or player of the same calibre to be the role model for aspiring young players. I want to see a superteam/superstar emerge for all us Asians to be proud of and cheer of! That's why I hope mixed APAC rosters become a thing, that way we can support teams without the nationalism! We can just have asian pride.

I remember being so excited when PRX and Zeta made such huge runs this Masters, I stayed up until like 6 or 7 AM watching their games because I was so hyped that the gap was closing.

they look good for sure but Optic has obviously been together longer whereas 100T is still a new roster, so I'm being cautious.

posted about 3 years ago

I want them to win to disprove the stereotype that Asians are bad at Tac FPS! Asia didn't get a lot of representation in CSGO because it wasn't marketed there, now I hope that Asia wins! That's why I cheer for all APAC, KR, and JP representatives at International events! <3

Marved was not impressive at Berlin, end-of. His viper was definitely not impressive and his Astra did not have a huge impact. NV's most impressive player during that tournament BY FAR was Yay, followed by Crashies. Marved was a good player but he did not stand out compared to other smoke players and thus, he was not impressive.

Also, Heat was number 1 in ACS for Berlin, but nobody would say he was more impressive than nAts, Yay, or TenZ during the event.

he was not particularly impressive during Berlin.

FNC, OpTic, FPX, Guild (if they dont choke), XIA, PRX, LOUD, DRX, ZETA, maybe even EG or 100T but I think we need to wait for playoffs to be sure. I wouldn't rate EG or 100T yet though because I think Optic are still the best NA team by a decent amount. (++100T and EG are somewhat new rosters)

how good is he. is he the goat of racing? looks like it tbh.

disagree. I would rather have Jinggg over f0rsaken. I've seen them play and I've watched their streams. I actually believe that f0rsaken relies on Jinggg a lot to set up plays, whereas Jinggg is better at self sustaining and making smart decisions, and frags out equal to or above f0rsaken despite having less resources funneled into him. I also think Jinggg is the backbone of their fragging style. I would hold him at a higher value than f0rsaken. Not by much, but definitely a higher value.

posted about 3 years ago

i dont think anybody rated DRX as title favourites this Masters. Most people, and all Korean fans, rated them at a solid A tier, hoping for Top 8 at best.

posted about 3 years ago

why is Nukkye on this list

posted about 3 years ago

Jinggg is the true carry of PRX imo. They looked so much better after he replaced Shiba, and although f0rsaken is the flashier player I think Jinggg brings more to the table as he doesn't overheat as much as f0rsaken does.

to be fair ONS is also better than DWG and judging from DWG's performance at APAC LCQ a team like TNL (widely agreed to be the 2nd best KR team better than Berlin F4Q) would have smashed the teams there.

I also hope this year's APAC LCQ is held on LAN, results from last year's LCQ are really inconsistent due to scuffed servers/ping diff.
