well usually its to have in house scrims (kinda like a "sister" team), where u can have decent prac and don't have to worry about leaking your strats or someone else stealing it

also if someone doesn't perform well, you can switch him from the other roster and basically motivate the other roster to improve so they can get a slot on the main team

i doubt they will stick with it for next year, it had ton of issues like not having a player for a few months and usually 10man/12 man (OWL) 99% of the time just fail. too much pressure on main players, unmotivated sister team... etc.
