I'm kinda sick of people calling any region trash. To me all regions are pretty good on their own. Ofc some will have better qualities than others, but that's just normal.
Saying that EMEA is a one team region is an absolute lie. I know that lock//in top 4/8 was highly dependant on who you faced due to the single elim format, but EMEA was the only region with 2 teams in the top 4.
Since lock//in is not the best example due to the format, let's talk about 2022. NA had only one team in the top 4 in any of the three international lans (OPTIC), EMEA had two (FNC and FPX), Pacific had three, Brazil had one.
Now in masters Tokyo. EG beat liquid dominating and Potter called the whole EMEA trash, which to me is extremely toxic for both tl and EMEA in general.
Fnatic won against EG and liquid lost against NRG in an overall very close match. Loud and Navi/FUT had both very disappointing performances. So the "top 3 teams" in both of the regions performed very similar to each other (FNC close win against EG, NRG close win against TL and LOUD and NAVI disappointing).
There's not one reason why EMEA would be a 1 team region and Americas wouldn't
