shit talk is cool. sure. but not braindead copy paste same old dogshit comments just for baiting impressions. if you ever watched real sports in ur entire life, you will notice that all the shit talk has a REASON behind it. THERE ARE POINTS that MAKE SENSE behind the shit talk. and when there are close matches, even when your favorite team loses, THERE IS MUTUAL RESPECT. So arguing that brainless shit talk makes it more exciting is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Reading the same garbage from idiots over and over again is not entertaining at all for people over the maturity age of 10

oh yes appreciating the value of exciting matches and good competition without feeling the need to constantly talk down on others is a abd thing LMFAOOOO

I read like 1/3 of what u said. IDC if u root for ur region. I root for OpTic and most of NA. I'll shit talk. But when you can't think of anything other than "SHITMEA" and "OPTIC FLUKE" and "SHITRX" ur wasting ur braincells. USE YOUR HEAD AND COME UP W REAL SHIT TALK. THAT WAS MY POINT. LMAO. Im all for shit talk, I literally play sports and Im the biggest shit talker. But at least make it creative not 100x of "WOW OPTIC FLUKE" "SHITMEA CANT BEAT BLAH BLAH" yk?

Is it just me or is anyone else tired of VLR users shit talking other regions either for bait or serious. Like all the SHITMEA, OPTIC FLUKE, BRAZIL IS SHIT, like all of that is so cringe and boring lmao. It's cool if the pros/teams have rivalries and beef within regions but its so weird when the no life kids on VLR do it imo. Just watch the games and appreciate exciting valorant. Like I'm from NA and a huge OpTic fan, but I also support DRX/FNC/PRX while I fucking hate XSET lmao. Region shit is just so weird and everytime I read shit talk on VLR my spine just shakes with cringe.

Paper Rex (2) vs Guild (1)
This is gonna be a crazy match that could go either way. Guild plays a slow methodical playstyle that shut down yay, but will they be able to counter Paper Rex's fast aggressive style. They did have some trouble against KRU who are decently aggressive but way less than PRX. With f0rsakeN having Covid, this might be a little bit tougher for PRX but I think they are definitely ready to face an EMEA team because that's where their style works the best. Both teams will be playing without pressure, so it will be a great match for sure. Whoever's stars (Leo/Trexx/Sayf or Jinggg/f0rsakeN) can get going will push their team across the finish line. And whichever's more lackluster players can rise to the occasion. And my bet is on d4v41, mindfreak and benkai moreso than Russ and koldamenta.

FNATIC (2) vs FPX (1)
With Suygetsu, FNC will win 2-1 or 2-0. With Seider, FNC will win 2-0. I just really don't see the Shao/ardiis & friends get by such a great team in Fnatic. 4/5 of their team have LAN experience but even if Alfajer is nerfed on LAN, the rest of the team can easily pick up the slack. FPX looked really iffy during groups and with I think Fnatic will have no problem beating them with such a long time to prepare and since they are facing a familiar EMEA opponent. If FPX wants to win, they are going to have to play a much cleaner and team effort game.

DRX (2) vs Leviatan (0)
Apologies, since I don't know much about Leviatan, but I don't have very high hopes for LATAM. Also, DRX has looked really good so far in this tournament and definitely much better than last Masters. They are entering these playoffs with something to prove for sure and I think skillwise they just outmatch any LATAM team. However, LATAM plays a more aggressive style, and DRX plays a more calculated, slow, stratty style. Leviatan pulling off an upset would have to rely on throwing DRX off their game and messing up their mental. However, DRX has looked way better with adaptation and bouncing back, so this one goes to DRX.

OpTic (2) vs XSET (0)
An in form OpTic is going to mop the floor with a first time LAN XSET. In a domestic matchup like this, the game will go to the more experienced team, like we saw last Masters when OpTic beat The Guard. I also think The Guard back then was better than XSET now. OpTic also just looks way better. Victor on Neon has been insane, crashies has had huge impact, Marved has made a case for best in the world, FNS fragging power has surged, and even an underperforming yay is better than half of XSET. I just think XSET, especially with first time nerves and inexperience, doesn't have enough firepower to overcome OpTic, not this time. Also, I want to see BCJ lose; that guy annoys me.

Circuit Points feels so stupid to me like if you make 1 LAN and do decent ur into champs since there are only 2 masters. They need to alter the format and like the weight of points at the lan event/at home. OR J HAVE MORE LANS PLEASEEEEE For example, Fnatic placed 2nd at 2021 M2 and made champs even tho they sucked in M3. Thoughts?

Here are my rankings for the 8 remaining teams of Masters 2. Feel free to debate below. Regardless of these rankings, I think any of these teams besides LEV and XSET could honestly win the championship, the gap is not large at all. This Masters' playoffs is stacked af and will be super exciting to watch.

  1. Fnatic
    • Fnatic is still the best team for me coming into these playoffs. The form they showed in EMEA is just much too strong for me to doubt them at all. We still have to see how Alfajer plays on LAN, but I still think Fnatic is one of the teams with a very good chance at the trophy.
  2. OpTic
    • Off to a shaky start, but this is the OpTic we thought we would see. A competitive win vs a very good Loud team and a dominant victory over a Kru team that beat Loud and brought Guild to the very edge shows that they are back in form just in time for playoffs. Plus, Marved has been on an absolute tear during this tournament. We could very well see the first 2x champions.
  3. DRX
    • Maybe some people will think this is too high, but I am confident in DRX this time around. I like what I have seen in the group stages, especially with that bounceback win against FPX, and Rb has looked way better. They seem confident, and I would definitely keep eyes on DRX to go deep.
  4. FPX With Suygetsu
    • With Suygetsu, this is a very formidable squad. If he is able to play during playoffs, I have no doubt that FPX will be able to showcase their firepower and skill. Shao and ardiis have been monsters so far, and adding a very talented player back in Suygetsu would be just the thing to give them a deep run in the playoffs.
  5. Paper Rex (tied with Guild)
    • I have Paper Rex tied with Guild at 5/6 spot. I still think their playstyle is so hard to counter, and they looked very good in the APAC playoffs. In my eyes, Jinggg and f0rsakeN were just getting started last time, and they are ready to explode during playoffs. They are also in an EMEA heavy side of the bracket, which they're playstyle works very well against.
  6. Guild (tied with PRX)
    • I really like Guild and I think they had a good showing in the group stage. I think they are definitely a dark horse during these playoffs, but it remains to be seen if they can keep up their good play under playoff pressure. Leo has been amazing though, one of the best players in the tournament for sure.
  7. Leviatan
    • I don't know much about Leviatan, but I haven't been impressed by LATAM at all really. LATAM is also aim heavy, and I think they will break down against these strong teams in the playoffs. Plus, they have 0 international LAN experience and have to go against DRX first round.
  8. XSET
    • Call me a hater, but I have no belief in XSET at all. Nothing about their game grabs my attention or sets them apart from anyone else. With no experience on LAN and a matchup with a red hot OpTic first round, I think XSET will be on their back foot for these playoffs. We could be seeing a Guard pt2.
  9. FPX With Seider
    • If FPX can't play with Suygetsu, I think they are the weakest team in these playoffs. They did well to get out of groups, but I think playing with a sub that changes roles a little puts them at a huge disadvantage especially against these top tier teams. So far, it has been Shao/ardiis and friends, and that won't get them far in playoffs.

So I guess this is Kru's instaban from what I heard, so it seems like they are really scared of OpTic's fracture and felt that they could beat OpTic on split and took the gamble. They did get beat down by Guild on Fracture so it does kind of make sense.

I don't disagree, but Marved has been playing especially well even tho many thought he couldn't replicate last masters performance

yeah lol idk why he jiggled behind wall there Marved wasn't even looking

yeah its super cool that they've formed a respectful and friendly rivalry, not like the hate between SEN and Brazil. Sometimes hate and hard rivalry can be cool but something like these where there are brazilians in the Optic comments typing "gg" and "good luck" and stuff is really cool too

Anyone that really watches EMEA or FPX, can anyone tell me why Ange1 doesn't frag (-27)? His aim doesn't seem bad at all but his stats are always not very good. Keep in mind, I'm not talking about him as a player, he just can't seem to frag. Like with FNS, sometimes he just looks shaky. What is it with Ange1?

We will see. It will for sure be a good match! I hope I don't get too stressed during it.

I pray we don't get Optic vs XSET and DRX vs PRX. Hopefully it's DRX vs LEV, FPX vs XSET, GLD vs PRX, OPTC vs FNC

FPX (2) vs Northeption (1)
I want NTH here but I just don't see them beating this FPX team even with a sub. Shao looks absolutely incredible and ardiis is right there with him. So long as Ange1 and Seider up their individual performances, FPX will have no problem with NTH. IF they don't tho, I can see NTH sneaking by FPX and into playoffs, led by Meteor who is definitely one of the top players at this event in terms of firepower.

OpTic (2) vs KRU (0)
Call me biased, but OpTic is not losing here, no way. They've been here before with these exact stakes, and I have no doubt that Chet and FNS will be well prepared for KRU. For KRU, I believe it depends very much on Keznit and Mazino. If those 2 can't step up and carry the weight, there is no way KRU will get by a rejuvenated OpTic. They also have to figure out how to shut down Yay, but their playstyle is not like Guild's calculated style at all, so I don't see them doing so. FNS is going to run rings around KRU calling, and the rest of the roster will go to work.

Guild - Amazing how well they've done so far with such little experience (besides koldamenta). I can definitely see them going far with how good Leo and Trexx have been looking. Their playstyle and calling looks amazing as well. Stats aside, I think Russ has been providing a lot of impact that just doesn't show up with numbers. If the numbers start coming as well, watch out for Guild top 3.

DRX - Looking good once again. But, they also looked this good in last Masters group stage. However, 1 difference. After losing 13-8 in map 1 against FPX against a dominant Shao, you could tell DRX's mental wasn't shaken and they bounced back with 2x 13-6. Rb has also looked way better with FK and fragging this time around. I'm keeping an eye on them to go far.

This masters has been nothing short of incredible thus far. The production has been pretty solid, and the games have all been great. Even the LB1 of each group are so tight, something we aren't really used to in these international events. The gap is really closing between all the regions and the games have been so fun to watch because of it. Here's to continued success and exciting Valorant! (PS. I feel so bad for Loud. Was definitely ready to cheer for them, but unfortunately they ran into OpTic. They deserved the playoff seed more than Leviatan. But they'll be back)

posted about a year ago

Dude the competition in Valorant is getting insane… every region is right there with the other ones and the games are so close man this is so exciting for the esport.

Dude FNS has been playing WELL fragging wise the disrespect gotta stop. Hope Optic can pull this win out.

All matches super fucking close besides DRX. No more blowouts that we saw from earlier maps. 2 upsets in group A with M1 final in lower bracket. Insane. Props to Guild for qualing through in 1st group A, a lot of people (including me) were down on them coming in. #OPTICWIN tho

Although TSM is 1-3 and eliminated from playoffs, I think there is a lot of good stuff to take from their group stage.

Every match was close. Even tho they were all 2-0s, they have the best +/- of any of the 1-3 teams. A -10 rd even though they went 2-6 in maps is something that's pretty impressive, meaning each map was close and could've gone TSM's way with cleaning some stuff up.
NRG 13-15, 10-13. 100% could've gone TSM's way with a few rounds here and there.
Beat 100T. Looked really good in this match.
Guard 10-13, 7-13. Their weakest week, just looked really off with rotates and everything.
Ghost 9-13, 13-15. Really kicking themselves in this match, up 7-5 both maps and lost so many thrifties it was insane. If they played cleaner they would've won this match, they dominated early portions of both maps. Could've been a 2-0 TSM.

Relatively new roster and swapped roles. I think with time and dedication, especially with their strong support staff, they can fix their mistakes and turn into a really strong team. Losing thrifties is just a sign of maybe lack of discipline or some little mistakes so they will be able to fix that. Also, they will be able to flesh out their new roles with Subroza on initiator, gMd on controller, seven on duelist and Corey on Sentinel. No one even expected TSM to qualify for the event, so I think getting through in the first OQ and looking decent is really a success in itself. Came a long way from 2021.

Subroza and gMd looked good on the IGL side. No blowouts for me means strong calling, mental, and good strats. It's a good sign for the team. Both also look much more comfortable on their roles now with more fragging power so that's always good.

A lot of winnable games/rounds. This is similar to the first point but they would start out strong in a lot of maps and just throw away advantages. This will be easy to fix in the off season I hope.

Even though I wanted them to qualify, TSM still showed a lot of promise this VCT. It sucks that they're done for 2022, but as long as they don't blow up the roster and build more chemistry and learn to close out rounds and matches, I think they will turn out to be much better next year. Honestly just a few rounds off of qualifying for playoffs too. For me, TSM showed a lot of good things this season and as long as they keep grinding, I think better results will come in the future. They definitely solidified themselves as a top 10 team in NA, and that is a big step from their position in 2021.

They need to take this man off Omen asap, he doesn't play like a controller (20 deaths, 4 FD) and he has sm dueling power he would be way better on jett/raze. Playing omen just constricts him on Breeze/icebox.
