FPX can't travel to Iceland due to restrictions on Russian/Ukraine players and one of their guys has Covid. Now they can bring in sub but still a majority of the team should be the original one but that's not possible.... they would have to bring in 3 stand ins out of 5 which Riot can't allow and so they can't compete

Huge EMEA fan and really want Liq/Fnatic to win Iceland. But after the Guard's beautiful run in the NA Challengers it's hard to not root for them to win. They have been so good and then winning Iceland would make quite the statement about how a team that was relatively unknown became the Best in the world through sheer Hard work and dedication. As much as the NA peeps are annoying af.... it's impossible to not want The Guard to win Iceland.

As far as I know FPX is a remotely small org. Their recent success in Valorant EMEA was massive for them and now that they can't compete due to travel Restrictions. There might be a high chance that they would have to disband this year if the Russian situation doesn't get resolved. It would be really sad if that happened :(

Ngl.... I'm absolutely hyped up for Iceland with these new teams making in and the past year Champions out(missing Gambit though)....kinda makes the tournament more unpredictable and fun to watch. At this point I am more excited for Reykjavik Masters than I was for Champions 21. The last year's Reykjavik was peak hype due to being the 1st LAN valo tournament and this year's Reykjavik has the same going on with these new insane teams and a different meta. Kinda keeps the scene fresh :)
