just got owned by Cryo on Sage because his ipad rockets were still recharging btw
mechanics of opening his ipad and clicking the spike twice?
Teams have bad maps, even on maps they love
Look at Shanghai that year for example https://www.vlr.gg/team/stats/1001/team-heretics/?event_id=1999&series_id=all&core_id=all&date_start=&date_end
Just keep Asuna on the ziplines the whole game and its gg
This was the other one I had in mind, I also thought of Heretics on Sunset
Aspas on Icebox is just insane, feels like every time they play it they win, on LEV, on MIBR, Aspas just dominates
Any other players (or teams) like this on certain maps? I feel this is the best example
said this out loud and my furniture just started floating
Yeah it kinda depends, it mostly requires T1 doing HORRIBLY and not even making playoffs in Stage 2, I think thats the condition for it (which is possible cus they will have to play Boom, DRX, GenG, PRX from the other group so)
Yeah but even T1 at their worst will get another 2-3 points minimum in stage 2, it would require one team doing a fairly high amount in Toronto and then be good for alot of stage 2 then COMPLETELY flop in playoffs
Obviously its possible, just unlikely, like 80/20 in favour of T1 qualifying imo (Though, anything can obviously happen in Valorant)
Given that 3 teams qual to champs without points, and those 3 have high probability to have GenG and DRX at minimum, and maybe also BOOM anyway, T1 are so so likely
I think they'll qual to champs with points at the minimum, highly unlikely that they dont imo
there was 5 rounds, 5 tech pauses, they then finished map 1 (after another tech pause near the end, maybe 2 even), and then just called it off because it was cooked
Partially but its a bit of everything at this point, theyre literally giving context on the game right now because its been so long since a round LMAO
I feel bad for the casters that actually have to yap through all this
FNS lowlights would fill much more time
Its shameless, I can honestly see FNC vs Heretics being rescheduled at this pace
I feel like I'd be beyond tilted at this point LMAO
this shit is fucking hilarious man, this region is so so dogshit
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this shit is disgusting man
I agree but no one wants to watch Pinicius that ballon d'or FRAUD. They'd want to watch GOOD PLAYERS like Raphinha
Heretics and Fnatic aint getting home until like 1am man its COOKED
Yup, 50 minutes now and still continuing, after 4 ROUNDS of Map 1...
If youre FNC or TH, what do you do? Knowing that your game might not start until INSANELY late, especially if its a 3 map series and there are more pauses
Total of 8 minutes of gameplay - Total of 45 minutes of tech pause (and counting)
At what point do you just call off the game? Do they sit here for 2 hours? Surely there is a point where they just say its enough (if this continues at this rate)
edit: It's now 10 minutes of gameplay but 85 minutes of tech pause (and counting)
6 minutes of actual gameplay, 40 minutes of pause... disgraceful
3 Rounds, 3 Techpauses now LMAO (30 minutes of pause already, prob higher at this point) this region is so shit man...
Kinda agree but 1st seed at Toronto still gets alot just for being 1st seed I believe, but even if they saved new strats, MIBR would probably do well in more of a normal strats but heavily aim battle focused game
Give me freedom, give me fire, give me tech pause or I retire
MIBR probably can imo, when they played recently it was really close, so in a BO3 (Maybe Upper Finals?) I could see it, idk about in a BO5 tho
Aspas would tremble upon the sight of Rise Shanks on the enemy team
Turkish derby, mental doesnt matter, its just aim and vibes
Surely if this ends up being a 3 map series, there could be some INSANE kill record set
vlr is wrong, liquipedia has it correct, Sen are 2nd seed and Kru are 1st seed
Im not saying that they aren't out aiming EDG, not tryna diminish their quality with aim etc, I mentioned that their aim is insane and they can take the duels, but the whole region tends to have insane aim and insane ability to take 1v1s, its just that the util diff is what feels more insane to me personally, just the delay alot of the time with their util is really good, especially by the usual CN rush/gun battle heavy standards
Imo they have a different feeling from other CN teams, much less heavily focused on duels and aim diffing than other teams (like EDG for example, who I feel are alot about out-aiming other teams) and more focused on slowing it down, playing util, playing postplant util and team swings - obviously their aim is still nuts, and they can take the duels, but they feel more refined with other aspects
ngl im so happy Wolves made it, if XLG win then 2 new CN teams already made it to Toronto, would be fireeeee
Nah they both kissable, I meant in terms of what theyre doing to NRG mannnn.. Shanks curse x FNS aim is diabolical
Yeah I mean I agree that you can view it that way, theres positives and negatives, I personally just wanna see more variation, it would add a bit of unpredictability too imo which I kinda just like, I understand its completely preference related, for me regions like APAC are just so close at the top that its hard to leave so many teams out that could do well in some of the tournaments (as well as giving potentially new teams a LAN experience)
it used to be that 3/10 would go to Masters, and 4/10 would go to Champs tho (2023), as the amount of teams increases I think the slots should too provided teams get more and more competitive, thats just my outlook on it, since 4/12 at Masters and 5/12 at champs would be roughly the same ratio as when they first started it, all preference though either way
I think masters needs more slots per region, regions now are so competitive, and 3 doesnt feel like alot considering ascension over time has added a fair few teams to every region, and that the general quality of teams is increasing (imo)
For example;
In APAC, teams like T1, BOOM, DRX, GenG, RRQ, Nongshim, Talon (and maybe PRX) are all capable of making it and I wouldnt be TOO SHOCKED that they did
In EMEA, I would say Fnatic, Heretics, Vit, Liquid and Maybe FUT/KC are all good enough to compete at least somewhat for the weaker of them
In Americas, KRU, 100 Thieves, SEN, G2, C9, and MIBR are all playing really well and have a REALLY solid chance at doing something or other
In CN you ofc have EDG, but right now certain teams like Xi Lai, BLG, Trace, and TEC are all quite close, Wolves been decent, DRG and FPX not awful (though the region definitely lacks in some ideas, and is heavily aim focused atm)
Idk, I think more slots is a positive in many ways, I also think Champs should inevitavbly gain more too to make it more of a big event.
