Like you said, theres so many cracked out initiators/duelists in tier 2, but the gap between Tier 2 and tier 1 is so small that while yes, there are better players in Tier 2, that doesn't necessarily mean that GC players wouldn't still be able to perform in T2/T1.

Imo if mCe had picked up skuba instead of jakee (which he did for budget reasons) then C9 would've done better, but that doesn't mean jakee himself performed badly on C9.

I would honestly pair the collegiate league and GC as 1:1 in terms of how developed they are.

Hell even I've shit on collegiate teams because 70% of them are the only people to have hit immortal in their schools and subsequently got added to the school's valorant roster as a result

I think if someone like jakee can be given a shot based on collegiate performance then I can totally see someone like florescent being given a shot based on her GC performance

GC is underdeveloped compared to challengers and tier 1, but that doesn't mean some of the top performing individual players in GC are as well

They still deserve trials because t3 isn't as bad as a lot of people realize. The strategy, macro, etc? dogshit compared to T2 and T1 obviously, but the individual talent is about the same as T1.

There's a reason mce could pick out jakee and runi amongst those very same t3 nobodies and make a roster that goes almost undefeated in the regular split of VCT Americas

Even Demon1 lost against 'STEALING LUNCH MONEY' in the quarterfinals of a knight's monthly. Sometimes insane talent gets buried under bad teams, but it's the real deal when it gets unearthed and put on a proper roster
