Now that I got your attention I don't believe there has been a single mickey mouse tournament. It's just that early in the year is when teams and players try and discover the meta and pace or style that most suits them. I do think every first tournament is weaker than the champs before it but I will always give credit to teams that win a trophy.

But last year their were players who had previously done well pre franchise as well as players people thought should be pick up as well. Flyuh, Zander, Nismo, Mada, Verno, Reduxx, skuba, N4RRATE, Bcj, wedid, are all right now talent that all can't play because there isn't enough spots. The Guard is also a team that ascended and not individuals that replaced others.
All the top tier 2 talent didn't want to leave their teams or nepotism prevented them from being picked up. M80 Oxygen and MXS have two teams worth of talent that could be in franchising as well as N4RRATE and We did.
Well I don't think they could just magically play better.

C9 just make teams play worse. As a wise man once said, C9 are the oily men of the Valorant scene. Once they drag you in the mud it's a dogfight and they're happy to play in chaos.
