Yeah I think the main point would be having 5~ teams with the same "owner", but Riot is willing to let gamechangers teams play with teams of the same org
In light of the most recent visa-related issues (searching for a replacement for NZR and now MWzera being hard), I was trying to think what could be done to alleviate some of the current disadvantages that LATAM org faces, assuming RIOT won't move VCT Americas from the U.S. nor split the region (imo, best option).
The problem in case you aren't aware:
To participate in VCT, players and coaches have to get a working permit/visa, which I suppose is of the P-1 category (P-1: Individual or Team Athlete, or Member of an Entertainment Group-For applicants who are recognized athletes or members of an entertainment/sports group. They must perform at a specific athletic competition or entertainment performance. Includes persons providing essential services in support of the above individual.), and may take months to get done, as we've already seen a couple of times in these 2~ years of VCT Americas.
To make things worse, the work permit is not granted to the player, its granted to the player in relation with a team ( example: Aspas doesnt have a permit to play VCT Americas or Valorant in the U.S., he has a permit to play Valorant at VCT Americas for MIBR.), meaning Furia can't hire Tuyz ( if he ends up benched for Luk Xo) without him going through the whole visa process again.
With this in mind I was thinking, what if the 5 LATAM orgs that are partners (Kru, Lev, MIBR, Fur, Loud) created a company in the U.S., which the teams would be part of?
Lets call it ValSul. If that is possible, now when they hire a player, they could hire him to play for ValSul, and once the proccess is done, designate him to work on one of the affiliated teams, but if that player doesn't fit a team, he could still play in any of the other 4, as if he was moving from one sector of company to another, instead of moving jobs/companies.
Teams could even agree to hire 6 players each and thus have an entire reserve roster to pull talent from, and if RIOT allowed they could play challengers NA, even if its as an Academy ( but I dont think it is possible because they are hired for VCT Americas only).
But I dont know much about the legal and financial avaiability of that. Does anyone know if this is feasible?
The potential positives : Teams could replace "bad" or sick players easily. Potential "natank" situations could be avoided (even if he isnt south american, a player that moved regions and then found himself without a team in a short time).
The negatives: We would see even less new faces, as players would rotate between these 5 teams more often. Salaries would end up inflated since teams could now easily "pouch" players from other latam teams. It would open up a bit more space for shady business and orgs would be reluctant to trust each other and possibly have to share financial information/roster change info (ex: letting the other teams know they want to hire an specific up and comer) depending on how the company is set up.
RIOT Val could even do this (become the employee, expanding the possibilities of latam players to also join american teams), but there is no reason ($) for them to do it, besides maybe being granted bigger control over the orgs (making sure the money they pass to the orgs is being invested back in the teams).
What do you guys think about this "proposal"?
Thank you for coming to my TED talks.
ps: I know this isnt the optimal place to ask this, since its probably mostly kids around, but its kinda the only place for it also.
The tournament, money, points, the dream
Tuyz is one of the bottom 10 players of the league
He has an european passport and is in the U.S. Latam teams cant get players there without MONTHS of preparation. VCT americas is completly fucked up
They cant both go to Toronto, unless G2 fumbles
They are playing Cs instead? Pretty obvious
In the slim chance your question is genuine, you could replace it, yes. The problem with calling someone a retard is that it uses a mentally disabled person's condition as a basis for offense.
But anyone can be an Idiot or a Moron as we can see everyday on VLR.
Its different from last years 1st split, this time you play teams in your group
How can you say that groups are "very balanced" when there arent enough matches to assess the skill level of teams? Cloud9 lost to G2 and MIBR, they were on the same pot as 2G who lost to Furia NA and Kru. Lev was on the 5-6th pot, going 1-2 after defeating only Furia BR, and they skipped a match based on last years september performance.
The team you face does matter.
The format you defend actually makes it harder for an underdog run as they can only lose once if they go as 4th seed?
Loud will never win as long as they have Tuyz
Pairing the 1st seed with the 4th is enough to reward a good group stage.
And groups are already not balanced (and I cant think of a way they could be when we get so few matches) since you based them on Kickoff perfomance ( a tournament, where again, the bracket was based on a tournament 5 months prior, and in which some teams only faced 2-8 opponents out of 11 in their league).
Yeah, would add another 2 matches = 1 day, and the way it is, already having the final on a monday again, like kickoff
People who get upset over people who get upset over words: get some fulfilling hobbies PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Instead of making a quarter-finals style where #1 seed for a group play the #4 seed of another, they decided give a bye to #1 seed and make #4 seed go directly to Lowers.
While this only removes 2 matches from the total, which doesnt free that much space in schedule ( and its not like teams play a lot), It makes so teams that get 1st Seed in groups can just win 1 match in playoffs and go to Masters Toronto.
Lets take EMEA as an example, suppose group Omega ends this way after resolving ties:
1.Liquid 3-2
2.KC 3-2
3.KOI 2-3
4.FUT 2-3
5.BBL 2-3
6.M8 2-3
Than at playoffs we have Fnatic #2 form Alpha against KOI #3 seed from OMEGA, KOI upsets, winners face Liquid #1 seed from OMEGA.
Liquid could make another event by beating KOI 2x, BBL and M8.
ps: assuming the playoff format is the same as americas
Just go outside instead bro, your country is beautiful
Both. It is good against chamber, and also dont require a lot of set strats or synergy
So far doing ok, if we disregard Heretics and Liquid
Probably the worst list ive ever seen
Someone who has played with Aspas, who won a Champions and play initator. I think you all know who I am talking about.
c0m
You gotta be really naive if you think Aspas didnt aprove this. He has new friends now, Xenom and Cortezia, the ones he took to europe instead of training for split 1.
Trembolona estava certo, a N*** vai acabar c a carreira do Aspas
and to make it worse, madrid was mickey mouse
AFAIK koreans arent big on psychologists, heard about some imports at LOL refusing to talk to the team psychologist for seeing it as a "weakness"
they are a company, ofc all they care about is profit
you will win with 5 duelists

I thought Liquid life game would be against EDG

Sorry for doubting EDG
T1 has a chance, Liquid doesnt
always casting as if its late at night and she cant wake up her parents sleeping next door
beats sentinels going 0-2 in swiss
