Depends where you at I guess. If in Finland/Russia ping should be fine, if in Ukraine/Russia it will be harder. Iceland is nearly 2k km away from Sweden.

That sounds really exciting, but too bad it won't be streamed. Since they probably want to mimic LAN conditions as closely as possible they will seek teams on low ping. So they will probably won't be playing CIS or Turkish teams sadly, (including FPX and NIP). Anyone got potential scrim candidates? Do you think they will go for relatively unknown teams or the best ones available at low ping? I assume it will be the latter since there is no chance of them encountering each other in IceLAN- so the likes of BDS, Guild, Vitality, Alliance, and Wave seem like good choices off the top of my head.

100T the target of eu teams with the aspiration and investment of a michelin star restaurant OMEGALUL

a lot of their mistakes were cs fundamentals related e.g not peaking in the same time, going in close quarters/alone during eco rounds. JasonR is a former cs pro and pointed them out. You can watch the vod for yourself, they are obvious mistakes which suggest a lack of coordination.

bonkar :(. He plays well with the team with supporting roles but has no fragging capabilities.

Its so weird how Turkish people are so quick to take offense to trash talk and consider it racism. "Turkish players so bad" != racism.

Ok cool. it doesn't even really matter why they lost, but who they lost to. If on a good day you can be a top 3 team, then on another not even top 20, thats some highly inconsistent stuff . And it wasn't even a bo1, but a bo3 with map bans. NOT only that, but they lost in absolutely convincing fashion.

Yeah what if FPX drops their team due to internal issues and astralis picks them up and sends them to the US monkaHmmm

????? Acend is definitively out. Vitality is definitely out. (i.e it is impossible for them to make Iceland as they have been kicked out of the tourney). This is about the top teams in iceland. As of writing Faze is definitely out as well. VKS > Gamelanders imo- it required a god-like performance even by Mwzera's standards to barely win, and VKS have only lost 2 series (including the one yesterday, and the other was a bo1) ever since Sacy + Saadhaak joined. Very skeptical about Sentinels ability to CONSISTENTLY perform, considering they lost to a t2 team in BBG in a bo3 in convincing fashion. That, outside of Dignitas beating TSM, was probably the biggest upset in Valorant esports so far (perhaps only entropiq vs heretics comes close, and that was only a bo1). If they can be antistratted this hard by a t2 NA team, imagine what a top t1 EU team like FPX could do.

I really don't think I dislike watching any map. Split is played very well by EU teams, to the degree that it is a balanced map on ct/t.

and to actually be able to compete for iceland. I imagine even if it doesn't work out the extra experience of playing in NA (better scrimming + tourney opponents etc) would allow them to dominate OCE even further.

Yea definitely, especially when considering Lithuania has under 3 million people XD

Same I like guild. But I'm realistic with it and just hope they make Iceland :)

NA do deserve the funding/investment they are getting, because they are getting viewership. Regions played at a higher skill level don't necessarily equate to more revenue generated, in the same way that March Madness gets far more revenue than Euroleague.

Ye, Sweden can punch way above their weight class (i.e for a nation which has slightly more people than NYC proper). My pick for a team would be
Starters
Zyppan (Raze/Sage/Reyna)
Sayf (Cypher/KJ/Viper).
ShadoW (Flasher/Astra)
Draken (Sova/Smokes)
Pyth (Viper, Sentinel).

Bench
Yacine, Leo.

In fact, NIP and Guild have faced each other three times (including this one) and NIP have lost all of them times 2-1. And in every one of those times Yacine has played out of his mind to send a message :)

then explain why the UK isn't up there XD. Nah just messin hopefully Liquid and Fnatic don't have the NIP mentality and keep some of their original SUMN FC and Fnatic players for the long term.

Actually fucking crazy how bonkar has managed to transition from paladins to valorant. People keep mentioning fortnite, overwatch, or pubg as being difficult to transition from, but at least those games had relatively high mechanical requirements and an established esports scene to provide resources for players to hone up their aim. Just look at this vod, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwFfQzc1llA, mans playing some beyblade 1st person Yasuo using a sword that chucks out projectile hitboxes the size of radianite boxes. Obviously not saying there are 0 transferrable skills from paladins and bonkar has some cs experience, but still some impressive shit. Hopefully he can get his mechanics up there to back up his solid ability usage and igling.

Honestly Guild has a history of second place finishes. We'll see which curse is stronger XD, but rooting for guild.
