compare to the possible opposition + double map ban. Also playing Abyss 1st time on finals sounds a bit too optimistic + it's probably midway to late to the series.
If we're being fair we can say they might have good haven against EDG/LEV but saying same for Sunset and Icebox is completely unrealistic. For arguments let's say Abyss is picked which is very likely, playing it 1st time on the Finals aside from scrims, not going to work in any version of events.
Keep in mind it's 1st international tournament for the roster (GENG), playing against Lev or EDG is completely different. You have to be a bit realistic looking up to the finals
WP for SEN on map 1, but when your map pool is shaky Haven and Sunset + pretty good Lotus. There's no way for SEN to compete if they ever made it to Finals through lowers. If the enemy is either Lev or EDG they have the maps to just ban 2 SEN best maps. Would be pretty realistic to call it 1-3 or even 0-3.
You never count FNC out until it's 13
G2 and losing Icebox. Isn't that long since that T1 match in Shanghai. But in all reality, they usually have a pretty slow start in general. Even though I'm not much of an NA fan, I'd rather have G2 go through than EDG.
Let's not lie to ourselves here. GenG was making Champs no matter what. Wanting to not show your hand on new map would make a lot of sense. That way you'd have a possible ace up your sleeve.
I never said GenG played bad, did I now? I just said they don't look strong on Abyss and winning both pistols really does a lot on a close map.
Flawlessly? They win both pistols and struggle to take 3 last rounds with getting them on low buys. When the vods of their play of this map is out, GenG Abyss is cooked. 5-7 half on attack on this map while winning the pistol? Doesn't seem that strong honestly.
EDG only winning CN teams. Getting bodied by every international team.
