It's a simple rule, teams who qualified for close qualifiers are not allowed. For TSM to play T2 tournaments they have to exit early next qualifier too. Andbox was not allowed to play NSG summer main event even though they qualified last time.

But on ascent you need flashes for short control and also retakes are really easy with flashes, almost all top teams play with Phoenix/Skye. Also Astra is just better than Omen on defense.
