The problem is that if splits were a 2 week tournament like kickoff, maybe a tournament in Brazil or South America would work. However, the regular splits are at least 5 weeks for regular season and playoffs, so it's a big hassle for orgs and riot to organize the relocation, visas, and living situations of 55 players when they've already got stuff sorted out in LA
