I don't think NA will adapt to Invited teams. Because the total of teams in NA isn't as much as in EMEA.
EMEA have CIS, EU, Turkey. While NA basically 85% American 15% Canadian.
As much as I wish there will be invited & closed qualifier. I think NA will still use Open Qualifier only.

Double elimination bracket is good. Increase in team to participate is good.
But for EMEA to take 8 team from challenger 1. And take 4 team from challenger 2. That means there will be 4 seeded team that will go by in round 1.
How do they will choose those team? They should just increase the team count to 16 IMO

RIOT apply this rule is because this is continuous tournament. Basically, "the best team" can continue to higher ranking tournament. So, if the rooster changed so much, the question is "Is it still the best team?"
Why that matters? Because a lot of things,
(As Example) SEN play in Berlin and win and undefeated again. The excitement from crowd goes wild. 3 times Master winner.
But suddenly, when VCT Champions almost start, SEN changed all rooster to literally IRON 1 player.
And they become literally jokes, RIOT loose face. The tournament becomes jokes to allow that teams to participate. And many more consequences.
So this rule is to make sure that the competition is always gives the best team from each region. And what define of the best is the rooster.

I choose shahzam because beside his basic quality as igl which already pretty good, he can control TenZ on what to do and what not to do.
He is the lone strategist and the one who review the enemy playstyle, watch old VOD, etc. And the coach too. Basically because SEN don't have analyst and coach so he do that too. That's what I think made him best igl.

2nd goes to boaster, because his strategy is so damn good. Watch some of his stream, when he analyze about post plant or line up or something with technical explanation is so great.

And in NA, even if SEN not joining any tournament and rank 2 & 3 VCT Berlin get by any team in NA. They still top 2 in circuit point.
