I think the idea was good for the short term to really lock in big orgs to get them invest into the scene but there are many other issues that come with it that Riot just mishandled. Plus long term it may not be feasible

Obviously, Tier 2 has been simultaneously exploding for the past few days (TLDR: https://x.com/Takumi_Val/status/1923250822562857401) and then last night a nuclear bomb was dropped. I don't doubt that more leaks will be coming in the upcoming days from Mr.Funhaver, Neema, Seangares, Akamaru and Ari. Obviously, they touched on many issues, but you guys don't know how deep these issues go. Last night and the past few days are just the tip of the iceberg. If you guys have any questions about the topics feel free to ask me I will try to give you answers from what I know or my players who have tier 2 experience.

Now I will not be addressing fixes to all of these issues because it will just be too much but I will propose what Riot could do right now to fix this.

Firstly, they should have 2 more ascension slots in VCT. So this means there will be a total of 4 ascension slots across each region.

1. More opportunities for Tier 2 team in Tier 1 which means bigger orgs are willing to invest if they have an actual chance.
2. Maintain stability of big orgs of franchised teams and the chances of other orgs to still make it there.
3. Longer stages with more matches. I think this was an issue that has been recently brought up, but in Tier 1 there really aren't many matches to prove yourself with minimum 5 games per split. This means only after 5 games or 4 losses you can be dropped. Which can be heartbreaking to some players who have worked so hard, put in so many reps in Tier 2/3, put in so mny reps in scrims all just to be gone from that. I know this will only add one game and there may need to be a format overhaul this is a step in the right direction.
4. Brings more views and eyes to Tier 2 as more people actually care what new teams will be there next season.

Secondly, more financial support to Tier 2.

As Mr. Funhaver said yesterday, Riot picked LIGA ACE because they were the cheapest option. This has shown to create many issues even their first impressions were bad if anyone played in OQ you will know what I am talking about. Other issues include inconsistent ruling, being bribed, satellite situation, premier situation, not paying prize money etc. I know its not that easy to just drop so much money, but they have the resources to do better than whatever is happening right now. What I suggest is making bundles for the Tier 2 scene and all or at least portion of the money generated goes to funding Tier 2. Or maybe at least negotiating with other better TO's on how to make something financially feasible like offering to do some Tier 2 streams for them. Right now, it just feels like they are neglecting Tier 2 doing whats best for them and not whats best for everyone.

I am sorry if this is all BS, and I am just ranting, these are just my opinions at the current state.

I agree, actually lots of people from that region have been complaining how Riot doesn't put any good server within that Central Asia region that is basically killing the scene like there are people that are willing to play but the ping is so bad. I assume same thing with Mongolia and people in Russia so having a server there and then some kind of challenger league or at least Premier league could be very beneficial

1. Pre-game anti strating for map veto I wouldn't say they overthink, but they do think a lot about it I guess some more amateur or less experienced teams/coaches might overvalue it so I suppose they do?

2. The main problem with modern teams is that they blindly follow the meta thinking they know the macro when they really don't. Most teams don't create unique comps but the ones that do I dont think I have seen an overcooked unique comp at least in Tier 1

3. Not really coaches don't overthink they may do some mid series adjustments but only when it is do or die and you need to gamble

Like in overtime games? I have seen some coaches overthink during overtime and it can be sometimes an overcook but good coaches will know just to maintain composure but is still present in tier 1 just not as common
