That's a good take. S1mple lifting a major trophy was one of the hype moments every CS fan wanted to witness. Secondly, it was the first Cs major in 2 years. Thirdly, I doubt whether Cs could ever surpass this 2.7 million peak ever again.

Valorant is a game where peekers' advantage plays a huge role in duels. Ping helps players abuse peekers' advantage.

posted about 2 years ago

6 or 7 teams can compete at the highest level.
I think Boom, FS, TS, PRX, Bleed, LVR are contenders for next year's tourneys.

posted about 2 years ago

They actually had a lot of good teams but some had to be disbanded and some teams just didn't make the cut.

posted about 2 years ago

Korea officialy only has 3 good teams rn. Why aren't more Korean orgs ready to invest in Valorant?

posted about 2 years ago

I do not think South Asia as a region on it's own will get a slot in masters. However, Lans may return next year and our region could possibly be clubbed with SEA in challengers playoffs. If the second thing actually happens then I can see another VCC like tourney happening here to decide the teams that go to the playoffs.

I guess everyone forgot the stinger run 'n' gun meta that was heavily popular in NA.

posted about 2 years ago

Triple duelist by BR hmm? Didn't watch the BR scene last year but I think TSM were the team that used the 3 duelists of Phoenix, Jett and Raze/Reyna during first strike.
Astra- Viper combo was more popularised by Sentinels and V1 during Iceland so that's more of an NA thing I guess. EMEA preferred Brim-Viper

posted about 2 years ago

Okay.

posted about 2 years ago

Name the regions that invented a particular meta that became so popular that all the regions started using it.
For example:
Fnatic were like the one of the first teams to make the Viper meta on Bind so popular that it is used by all the regions today.

I want more Fracture pls.
Also it would be cool if we could see the odds of Agent pick rates. I really would love to see every agent played at Champions by at least one team.

Yes, I forgot.

My whole arguement was not based on ACS only. You talked about overall impact on the game. Every team has a weak link but the weak link is usually the one linking the team. Bonkar on guild, FNS on Envy are such players and the weak links of their team. They provide value coz they are the IGLs of the team. Kappa has decades of experience but there are so many people who do his role better. I am not saying that GE must sack Kappa immediately but they must look into their performances and check where they are lacking against SEA teams.

Hellranger is the voice of the team and he IGLs + he helps keep everyone's mental in check. GE have good backroom staff and all of them are like family. They keep each other motivated and share their losses and happiness together. Therefore tilting and mental of the players is not a big problem in GE.

P.S : I am not saying Kappa is bad. Kappa is a really good player and gels together with the team fantastically. Every peak GE has climbed couldn't have been possible without him on the team. However, for GE as a team to move forward and to compete against the big wigs they need consider making some minor changes.

Nuturn didn't really have a plan for Hyeoni IMO. He wasn't comfortable at all in the Skye and every time he played on Jett he was never aggressive. Playing against bigwigs in such an important tourney without prior experience at a higher level could've also hurt his performances.
Reject arguably played against two of the toughest teams in the tourney. FS and DWG were really tough opponents and Reject were just unlucky they were drawn in a tough bracket.

Also please make your messages shorter so I don't need to type multiple paragraphs next time.

Just scroll down and you'll see something. I understand the fact that he provides a lot to the team in the form of utility. An initiator's job is to create space like you said, but proper utility usage alone won't save the team when they're down bad. Hellranger is a really great player. He's really great in clutch situations and acts as the pillar for the team. His agent pool is also really good as he can play Breach, Viper and Astra really well. His overall impact in being the team's IGL is shown throughout the game.

Kappa on the other hand plays only Breach and Sova. Sova is the best initiator in the game and all the strong maps of GE are good Sova maps. He's got some good fraggers on the team in the form of LF, Skillz and Skrossi. However one thing that I've noticed is the fact that he can't use his utility for himself. When required, you should be able to use your utility for yourself and play aggressively. Missing out on easy kills just because you are a team player doesn't make sense. This explains the fact why Global aren't able to win rounds when either Rossi, Skillz, LF dies very early. They aren't able to convert 3v5s into 3v3s or 2v4s into 2v2s.

That's what hurt them against PRX on Split and AE on Breeze.

posted about 2 years ago

People just hate NA, these downfrags are evidence of that.

posted about 2 years ago

Considering the fact that Fnatic were the 2nd best team in the world just 6 months back, it's a shame for them to be rated so low. Their form of late is very concerning and that's the reason a lot of people lost faith in them.

posted about 2 years ago

FNC- Heavily underrated because some people think Iceland is an irrelevant international tourney. They aren't in the best of form to showcase their true potential.
Vikings- With VK being the team that is most talked about rn, people forget the fact that Vikings were the best Brazilian team for the first 6 months of the year.
X10- People don't think X10 are good because they haven't done anything relevant since Iceland but who knows what trick they're hiding up their sleeve. With the level of competition in SEA being very high I think X10 are good enough to give VK, ENVY and ACE a run for their money if they're caught slacking.

No. of people hyping up Liquid to be champions > No. of people who think ENVY, ACE or SEN will win the title.

Liquid vs SEN has more hype coz it's potential champs vs potential contenders.

posted about 2 years ago

They have a 7 man roster. Marzil, Amaterasu, DM, Hellf and Rite2ace constitute the main 5.

posted about 2 years ago

I don't think a substitute would be very costly to buy out.

posted about 2 years ago

If you buy out the contract, then yes it's possible. Hellf the current VLT controller main was bought out from GE last year. GE could do something similar if they wanted to.

posted about 2 years ago

I think Hellf is in better form than LF at the moment. Look at the stats, I think Hellf has been more clutch for Vlt than anyone plus he frags out really consistently now. Plus he's really clean with the guardian and Vandal.

posted about 2 years ago

F0rsaken has clean shots with the Vandal IMO. Jingg is more of an aggressive duelist but his shots aren't as satisfying as F0rsaken.

posted about 2 years ago

Ya correct

posted about 2 years ago

Name some gamers from every region who hit the cleanest shots and are absolutely a treat to watch. The person may or may not have played internationally.
Here's my list:
NA: Aleksandar, Yay
EMEA: Scream, Leo
SA: Sacy(His phantom aim is absolutely crisp), Mwzera
SEA: F0rsaken, PTC
KR: Suggest, Lakia
LATAM: Keznit(Haven't really watched that many Latam players so make some corrections if you want)
JP: Laz, Seoldam
SA: DM, Hellff
OCE: Wronski

This is completely my opinion and I am not saying that they are the best aimers. While watching Valorant esports I thought these players have really clean aim so I thought of putting it here. Make some additions along the way.

At least not as irrelevant as your takes on this site.

Oof, these are really great achievements. Nobody could possibly reach this peak.

posted about 2 years ago

I too want the same teams to be in the final, but the outcome should be in favour of Sentinels due to my flair bias.

posted about 2 years ago

Technically they should've done that while categorising EMEA as one region. Now that it's already EMEA we can do nothing. The regions KR-JP-SEA could be merged into one in the future, keeping in mind that Lans were impossible at the inception of Valorant. In the future, Covid restrictions could be easing which means that APAC will function as one like it did in the LCQ. LAN environment could be coming back again which means better organisation after vct stage 1.

posted about 2 years ago

This is just the beginning of the international circuit IMO. Whatever changes you suggested can be implemented only next year. By giving 2 slots to all minor regions, Val has increased the incentive for investment in minor regions. It may kill EMEA investment, but EMEA teams are already contenders for the tourney right? The fact that EMEA is good at Val should encourage more investment right?? More slots = Less competition in the region.

posted about 2 years ago

VS beats all these teams 4v5

posted about 2 years ago

You can sleep on my reply, but that doesn't change the fact that Valorant 100% deserved to win the game of the year.

posted about 2 years ago

We'll see if the chances of beating an EMEA/NA teams still stands at 85% at the end of the tournament. Also, this is Valorant's biggest event and is not yet over. So, keep your talks about slots after Champions gets over, Ok buddy?

posted about 2 years ago

Valorant is 100 % game of the year. Cry all you want.

posted about 2 years ago

Poor take. Valorant as an esport has established itself as one of the premier games in just a single year. Let me tell you that 2020-21 was the period of lockdown which means a lot of people started playing games. A lot of e-sports titles like R6, CS, Pubg, Pubg Mobile, Lol, FF, Dota 2 already existed in the esports market. The level of competition for Valorant was really huge when it was launched. It received a lot of hype coz it was a new game but hype generally dies down after 6-7 months.

Secondly, establishing an esports environment in regions like SA, SEA where mobile games dominate the market is really a tough task. Third, in the first year of Valorant it has been able to provide an esports environment for Girls in the form of Gamechangers.

Launching of a new game in a market and dominating one of the biggest esports titles in the very first year of establishment is indeed a feat and that's why Valorant deserves the award. It has ventured into new circuits and has made itself very successful.
