Because he was always good, he never really improved he just got put onto a tier 1 team
He will be if enough people put him in the last question. You have to keep in mind I can only put 6 players. Just because a player isnt one of those 6 doesnt mean he wasnt a greatly improved
Thats a good point. There is a place on the survey for players that arent one of those 6
Who do you think is the Most Improved Player of 2023? This survey has 6 players listed and they will be ranked 1-6th to see what the community consensus on which player improved the most. I encourage you vote based on what player you think improved the most and not who you think is the best

This award is gonna be a bit different than how the normal ones will go, I already have the 6 nominees:
C0M
Coming into this year C0M might have been the lowest-rated player in Americas. Basically, no one thought he deserved his spot, and at the beginning, he played into that. He started off the year pretty bad both at LOCK//IN and VCT Americas. But after EG got 13-0d by LOUD EG and C0M especially seriously stepped it up. Many people would consider him the best Sova itw now.
Klaus
Klaus had a really bad start to the year, KRU went 0-9 throughout the regular season and Klaus was the 3rd lowest-rated player in VCT Americas. But when LCQ came around he seriously stepped it up putting himself 7th highest in Americas LCQ
Carpe
Carpe's first-ever Valorant official was at the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational and he played terribly, he looked completely lost when he was playing. So going into LOCK//In and VCT Pacfic everyone's expectations were really low. But he didn't do terribly at LOCK//IN like people were expecting, in fact, some might have even said he was the best on his team. Every game Carpe played he got better and better until he pushed T1, who was rated really lowly coming into the year, to the 3rd best team in Pacific getting them a spot at Champs and Tokyo, at those events he did way better than anyone would have expected coming into this year.
D4V41
This one is pretty self-explanatory, A lot of people rated D4V41 as the worst player on PRX but he had an incredible year. Champions and during the VCT Pacfic playoffs were when he especially shined.
Qw1
If you didn't pay close attention to the Turkish scene coming into this year you likely didn't know who Qw1 was, but he had a surprisingly solid year. Qw1 and FUT both exceeded expectations, no one thought they would be 3rd in EMEA and yet they pulled it off
Fit1nho
Much like Qw1 if you didn't follow the Spanish scene you probably didn't know who Fit1nho was. As the Giants franchise player expectations for him weren't very high, and frankly at the beginning of the year he met those low expectations. He wasn't performing poorly but he certainly wasn't having amazing games. But when LCQ came out Fit1nho seriously upped his game and brought Giants to Champions where he continued to perform at a very high level

Fun fact this is my 1000th post :D
oh my god, this argument is so dumb. Its not about how well the org does its about how safe they are financially. That's what's important in eSports rn. With how unstable the sport organizations, especially like the Guard, could collapse at any moment. There are always gonna be bad teams, its impossible for every team to be good. When a team is bad in the NBA no one wants to relegate them and replace them with a minor league team because thats absurd. Leo knows that the Ascension teams can win Champions or something but that doesnt change anything, its not about skill level its about keeping the sport alive for as long as possible. Plus KRU showed why relegation is stupid, teams can have bad seasons then show up and play well anyway the next event. Another massive problem is representation. This is a problem, especially in Pacific where there is only one team representing each minor region. If Team Secret got relegated there would be 0 Phillpines representation which would be bad for the game and for viewership. It would also seriously hurt the scene in the Phillpines
I know its problematic but having 8 people per award is a bit problematic aswell. Plus finding 2 from China from each one will be different
Ohh I like that one thats very creative
Added oper of the year
Thats a good one, I added it
I replaced it with most hype player of the year and org of the year
Perfect I love that title
I like hype player so I added that and removed person of the year
Either Wednesday or Tuesday. They will post it on their Twitter soon
ooo thats a really good one thx :>
LMAO

Since we have an extremely long off-season I figured it could be fun to do an awards-type post once a week. The idea here is to make a bunch of different unique awards and then have the community vote on them so that it's a community decision. I'll be posting this to both VLR and the subreddit to get maximum votes.
The awards:
I want you guys to make suggestions for more awards but here is what I got so far:
If people don't like any of these I'm totally up for criticism and I can remove some. The plan is to make separate posts for each of these rewards throughout the off-season and see the results. The way I'll do it is by making a posting asking for nominations and then 24 hours later I will make another post with the voting options, a brief description of them, and a link to the vote. Everyone will have 24 hours to vote. The day after I will post the results. I really want you guys to have input on this, I'm gonna read every comment so if you have something to say about it you should say it.
Notes:
They just need to buff the other Sentinels, KJ is amazing but the problem is that all the other Sentinels are terrible
True I think hes the one im looking for
I agree both those players improved a lot but im looking for more players who were rated lowly before this year and are rated way higher now
I need one from either NA or LATAM that isnt on EG
oooo Fit1nho is a great shout aswell he improved a lot
Daveeys is a really good shout I like that one
I agree with c0m but like what about other than that. I need 6 players
Who do you guys think the most improved players this year are? (I need 6 different players)
NEED ONE MORE FROM AMERICAS THAT ISNT ON EG
I would, money would solve literally all of my problems and if some weirdos have to see me naked so I could be happy thats totally cool with me
Im so sad. Jinggg is not only an incredible player but an incredible person. I started watching his streams awhile ago and hes so nice and cute and fun to be around. Hes such an amazing person. He will be super missed in the scene );
o7 Jinggg
snus is illegal because it calms nerves. Adderall doesn't give any advantage
oh god everything is breaking
Which of Alecks desks are you? Or do you just manifest inside whatever desk Alecks is sitting in at the moment
why do people care at all I dont get it
This wording implies you do want to allow them to win at some point
9th map gets canceled due to an emergency on stage so they skip to map 10 and PRX win 10-0
