unfalsifiable hypothesis

It's in relation to the matchfixing scandal wtith some of their players. Nothing to do with their actual play or skill, I'm a fan on that regard personally.

I think a lot of people have shade towards Rise.

Probably ping diff.

We wouldn't even be able to see TenZ on stage if it weren't for the scandal with Sinatraa. Crazy to think about how small things affect the big picture.

No question about it. Outclassed everyone in the server when it mattered.

What a disappointing way to lose the final map, but what an INSANE series overall. GGs to Sentinels, NA wins this time. The perseverance on these players cannot be understated. Closest 3-0 I've seen.

posted about 2 years ago

Looks like the last map is a blowout. If Sentinels win this map, there's no question, that they're the best team in the tourney & the world, absolutely none.

Edit: As soon as I say that, they start to claw themselves back in lmao

posted about 2 years ago

That clutch from ShahZaM... Insane. Probably one of the most impactful plays on this tourney.

posted about 2 years ago

Sentinels' midround tactics are much better, than Fnatics. Fnatic falls apart when they don't have the read, Sentinels thrives. I think Fnatic wins tactically in fakes and getting their opponents into poor positions, but Sentinels doesn't allow that to happen every round, which is why I think they are better. I think Sentinels are a step ahead most times.

posted about 2 years ago

They're both far ahead of the others in this tourney for sure. I mean the only team Fnatic dropped a map to was to Nuturn(apart from Sentinels), and that's straight after 2-0'ing Liquid.

Fnatic and Sentinels are closely matched, but Sentinels is clearly just better overall, teamwork, tactics, micro game, it's just better right now. It's definitely the cumulative experience coming in and being able to close out these maps without making mistakes and forcing them out of the opponent.

These first two maps have been INSANE so far. I'm so happy. TenZ is literally UNREAL.

Fnatic HAS to win this 9-9 round on Bind for them to have any chance in this series.

How is this so close with Derke choking so much? Jesus.

Longest tech pause in the history of tech pauses

First map Split? This is gonna be a 13-0 delivered by SEN. I want to see what FNC did prepare for this though.

Edit: Completely new strats. Let's see what happens.

Solo and Glow definitely spearheaded the KR scene to where it is today and forwards. Their contributions will not be forgotten, I'm sure the youngsters will make that known in the future.

posted about 2 years ago

I would be surprised, if this were any closer, than a 3-1 in favor of SEN. They always pull the rabbits out of the hat when it matters most and they've got a heck of a lot of material to prepare for Fnatic. They've also got a two day rest.

I'm laughing to myself thinking about the scene where the production guy pulls him away from the PC and he's struggling in his arms..

T1 was the one to go toe-to-toe against them definitely, but that was only once. Maybe 100T(they could've 2-0'd, but choked), but Bind was dominant for SEN and for C9B I don't think that was very close overall, considering SEN 3-0'd C9B before that and during a time where there was a meta-transition.

I mean NA is 100% a strong region, possibly stronger than EU and maybe EMEA and I agree, that we should wait until the tournament is over. Also we should wait a little bit after the tournament to see how the continuations are in their own regions. Maybe Liquid just fall apart and get exposed, maybe that happens to V1 too, we'll see.

posted about 2 years ago

What NA team regularly goes toe-to-toe with SEN? They've lost two games in the region since the switch to TenZ. In a region where EVERYONE is trying to antistrat them, and play them regularly.

posted about 2 years ago

Jesus christ. Following this Fnatic team since Boaster formed Sumn FC has been so satisfying. They've evolved into a new form.

posted about 2 years ago

Lakia has won them 3 rounds and it's only 6 rounds into the game. Insane gamer.

posted about 2 years ago

You're right, I'm thinking of VKS.

Nuturn are TERRIFYING on this map. They just pulled out a new comp too, Astra destroying Fnatic's gameplan.

  1. L'institut + MEGAKICH = Megastitut
  2. Rise + Derrek
posted about 2 years ago

You KNOW the IGL's are using 99.99% of their brains when they're both bottomfragging.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean it could also be a choke-out and out-aiming like the SEN vs NU series, but it'll definitely be closer.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah I forgot that, but whenever I watched them play it in Korea they looked like a menace. But now that I think back to it, they lost to both F4Q and VS on that, so definitely not their strongest.

posted about 2 years ago

This timing could play against them hard. I feel like their mappools are very similar when it comes to strength apart from split(worse for FNC) and icebox(worse for NU).

true

posted about 2 years ago

All they had to do to qualify was get through FPX and BDS. That was basically their toughest opposition in qualis. FPX really under-performed in that series, ScreaM activated and in BDS series, it was just a close brawl, except for the last map. Then Liquid got a free opponent in the semis(Oxygen) and got through.

IMO they probably would've lost vs Gambit, if they faced them in semis instead, but we'll never know that.

posted about 2 years ago

Fnatic full 2-0 run from lower bracket inc?

posted about 2 years ago

If this goes to Split and FNC has prepped nothing for it, they lose.

They looked literally insane on Haven vs NU, but then it all fell apart.

Rise vs Megastitut

posted about 2 years ago

Ok now for them to go into Haven, I'm just going to have to say SEN are just too good. But some individuals on NU are not performing.

I feel like this website's Brazilian users are in the pub drinking right now. Not seeing anyone, when before the distribution was like 1/4th of the comments on this website.

IIRC Sacy or Saadhak said in their platchat interview, that their Yoru comp was a failed experiment so I'm curious as to why they run it now.

posted about 2 years ago

This is either going to be a banger or a choke-hold delivered by SEN. SEN play very well against exec heavy setups, I think it depends on whether NU can manage to midround and slow things down, then time their execs in a way, where SEN has no idea what their exec is.

posted about 2 years ago

I don't think I've seen Sacy miss a Sova ult a single time.
