Nrg with sayf would actually be nuts, but can’t blame them for picking ardiis

posted 11 months ago

I think it’s too early to tell, the first year of franchising was always going to be ugly with new rosters and as such, fnatic navi and drx just have 0 competition. Also we haven’t seen the ascension system play out yet.

Hopefully this first year of franchising weeds out the frauds and replaces them with actual promising talent. On paper franchising is awesome because the top 50 players from each region should be insane matches, but teams are still sticking with bad players/bad systems

posted 11 months ago

no, but new LOUD has potential ofc. come back in 1 year and we can compare them fairly

Americas: Aspas, runner up leaf
EMEA: Sayf, runner up literally anyone on fnatic
Pacific: Mako, not sure who would be second (I don’t watch pacific that much)

Update: many of the commenters have pointed out very critical mistakes in my analysis. Here is my new list.

Americas: skrossi
EMEA: skrossi (🗿)
India: rossi with pajamas

Same reason why there aren’t many, say, Jamaicans in the top level. There’s far less # of female pros than male pros.

Fnatic- 2nd in Masters 2 2021, didn’t make it to masters 3
Optic- 2nd in Masters 3 2021, grouped in champions
Gambit- 2nd in champions 2021, didn’t make it to another lan
Loud- 2nd in Masters 1 2022, grouped in copenhagen
PRX- :(

honestly could be the best team in masters if they clean up some mistakes, like they almost let guild back into the match by throwing some anti ecos. They have the skill and unique playstyle to do it but they sometimes need to keep themselves in check.

rn I STILL THINK they can win the tournament but I would not be surprised if a mistake like that costs them. But this was a very good win against guild

posted about a year ago

nah, guild is overrated. winning by only 4 rounds against 149 acs -16 yay is unreal. like if yay dropped 170 ACS instead of 150 that’s probably a 2-0. and guild struggled big time against KRU. they’ve played well this tournament, especially leo sayf and trexx, but paper Rex was throwing easy rounds and still 2-0ed them

NA vs EU is a region rivalry tho. When I said biggest intl rivalry I should clarify I mean 2 specific teams. But hopefully NA will get its revenge soon…..

posted about a year ago

WP by loud, this should not have been a group stage elimination match.

Optic vs loud will become the biggest international rivalry.

posted about a year ago

This masters will be the best yet

  1. 5 new teams internationally that we haven’t seen before ever: LEV, XSET, GUILD, FPX, NTH
  2. Insanely stacked tournament: Optic, FNC, Loud are the three favorites imo, but u could also argue FPX, DRX, PRX, and maybe XSET and guild could win

Ur literally coping “emea didnt do good so it was fluke for everyone!!!”

Sen is out of LCQ yes?

Did someone say TenZ? Batchest

Someone explain to me the pros and cons of franchising? The cons from what I understand is that the teams outside of the franchise get fucked, which hurts t2 teams, are there any benefits to offset this?

posted about a year ago

Ok apparently he did better than I thought cuz he had a respectable game, it looked like he had a lot of whiffs and some questionable decisions

If he didn’t whiff a few kills he prob ends up with 21 kills or so

posted about a year ago

Really unimpressed by will, but bang is super good holy shit def one of the most underrated players NA

Agree?

I DIDNT KNOW THIS

There is a chance but very very unlikely:

Optic bombs out of playoffs somehow-they end with 765 points

Guard somehow turns their season around, gets second in the world-they have around 900 points

A different NA team wins masters-they have at least 1000 points

Basically if guard and another NA team clutch up and optic super choke then it’s possible. Obviously the chances of this happening are almost 0 lol.

posted about a year ago

It reads like he thought that #2 and #3 are automatically in from circuit points because optic won masters. (This is what happened to EMEA after gambit won masters 3). Maybe he could have meant c9 wins lcq but that’s how I interpreted it

posted about a year ago

masters 3 last year, sentinels got in thru circuit points

posted about a year ago

No masters just gave optic 700 points which is basically an automatic qual for them but it’s from circuit points, not winning the event, so NA wouldn’t get an extra spot

  1. NFL, best sport by a mile for me
  2. College football, 4 team playoff is cringe.
  3. NBA, free agency is fun, playoffs are fun, regular season kinda sucks cuz 82 games
  4. College basketball, don’t care about regular season but March madness is wild
  5. Tennis, goated sport that’s really underrated but it’s low because I prefer to follow the above 4
  6. MLB, extremely boring regular season but playoffs are intense. I don’t think the sport itself is that fun tho.

Didn’t rank soccer/football cuz I don’t watch any leagues. World Cup is hype af tho, it would probably be #2 or 3 for me.

No they just need to go back in time and win a match or 2

G2 26-0 and I’m an NA fan

posted about a year ago

This means it’s possible that optic doesn’t qualify LMAO

0.0000001% chance

posted about a year ago

Honestly it’s tough to say, idk if C9’s close games against Optic was a fluke or they had a bad game against faze. U could same for LG who looked good before getting destroyed by EG. But EG just beat optic so maybe the loss wasn’t that bad??? It’s a complete mess imo, flip a coin to decide who wins tomorrow

posted about a year ago

If they lose to LG their best possible record will be 2-3.
LG, EG, and Optic would all have 3 wins so C9 would only be able to get 4th in the group.
Sen is out omegalul
That leaves Faze, who’s worst possible record is also 2-3.
Faze has the head to head tiebreaker

posted about a year ago

Everyone saying Sen’s year is over but don’t they have a shot at LCQ? They are 6th in circuit points rn, of course they are about to plummet when teams like LG, EG, etc get this stage’s points added, but depending on the amount of teams, sen might have a slim chance.

(Ofc they will prob go 0-2 in lcq omegalul)

posted about a year ago

Crazy that this is getting downfragged cuz it’s 100% true, although I think there has to be a balance between consistency and parity

posted about a year ago

Imo mine is guard miraculously quals for Copenhagen and gets a redemption tour. Maybe they don’t win the whole thing but at least top 3 finish. (DEF NOT HAPPENING BUT STILL)

Or optic vs m3c finals rematch? I think that would be insanely hype

posted about a year ago

Where do you guys think the lower end EMEA teams would rank in NA. Like OGLU, FOKUS, BIG.

posted about a year ago
  1. OPTIC

2-11. Let random number generator pick

  1. Sentinels
posted about a year ago

Tbh yea I overrated LG (and underrated EG). Also overrated xset too apparently lul

posted about a year ago

Can you guys explain the format of APAC challengers, seems like there’s a bunch of regionals that feed into the main qual. Is this right?

posted about a year ago

NA valorant is like this tbh. Aside from Optic and c9, all the other teams seem like they could beat each other at any time. (Altho I think LG, XSET, and MAYBE guard are a little better than the rest)

posted about a year ago

if they win 1 more match they should have a decent shot at playoffs I think

posted about a year ago

sure, but it’s still a very good sign for them. Saya looked very comfortable and net looked so much better on the sentinel role than breach in the past matches. We could just say “it’s just TSM KEKW” but it’s still a solid win and a confidence booster for guard.

top 4 in na challengers so xset, c9, guard, optic

posted about 2 years ago

what happened to EG (i don't follow)

posted about 2 years ago

Who are the 12 teams you guys think will make the challenger playoffs? Other than the 4 that already qualified

posted about 2 years ago

gmb >> sen's results in 2021, although sen have the most impressive single run

posted about 2 years ago

imo this just means they have the most dominance in their respective region, they don't dominate internationally

posted about 2 years ago

I forgot about this, did riot say they are sticking with the 12 team format for all masters from now?
