People need to remember that Sen had to fight to get to Masters 2 and almost lost multiple times to teams like T1 (when sick dropped 35) and ABX.

If SEN wanted to, they could have chosen to sit out Berlin since they already qualified for Champions, but they know they're not perfect, and if they don't keep up, they'll get left behind.

You know... Even tho I had Sen beating 100T on my pickems, I'm changing my mind. 100T almost beat them in stage 2 and now they're doing even better and have worked on their lack of adaptation.

At their best, 100T can 2-0 even Sentinels.

I'm happy. Even tho job's not done, remember that 100T was only 1 round away from both their losses in the stage 2 playoffs. Come on. TSM hasn't qualified for a SINGLE playoffs/regional finals in all of 2021. I know you're a fan, but don't let the brand bias fool you.

In all seriousness, they're dead center at T2 right now, and that's being generous. T1 teams are teams that can strongly compete and even potentially make it to a major event/masters. That's not even close to TSM right now since they can barely get out of opens and haven't even been able to make it to the playoff qualifiers for major tournaments. The 2 out of 6 main events they've made it in so far, they were knocked out immediately.

By performance alone, they're not Tier 1. That would be the top 8-10 or so who can more or less consistently make top 8 qualifiers for majors.

At this stage, I think it's by community vote (the participating teams rank their preferred maps pre-tourney)? I might be wrong tho.

This 8-team bracket from this past weekend's open qualifier will fight in the main event for challengers 1 later this week, where the top 4 here will be qualifying to the NA challenger playoffs (which is the NA qualifier for Berlin). The top 4 from opens 2/main event 2 in like 2-3 weeks will also qualify for the NA playoffs where the top 3 from the playoffs go to Berlin to rep NA.

They are consistently qualifying for what matters and beat T2 and other T1 teams. That's Tier 1. Whether or not they make (a LOT of) mistakes is debatable to the ends of the earth, but just because they aren't a flawless powerhouse doesn't meant they're not T1 by stats and performance. They just look too shaky to be #1 unfortunately..

you're definitely overreacting. You're pressed over a compromise that had to be done during a pandemic. The rules are fair for the circumstances. There are LCQs for teams that can still make it to champions. There are PLENTY of chances to make it to champs if you are good enough, so there are no excuses just because the system isn't "perfectly fair".
