Do people even play anymore? I swear every person I ever played ranked with either doesn't play anymore or plays like twice a year. Also, I feel like people do not care anymore about their rank or rank-up games. I haven't heard anybody say in a long time that it is their rank-up game and they want to win. I feel like you can also tell with content creators that they don't care anymore and they don't have passion for it. Every time I queue ranked, I feel like I try to fill a void that can't be filled anymore. Playing Valorant nowadays feels kinda sad trying to revive the feeling from a few years ago (shoutout Chamber meta). I even asked friends to hop on Valorant again, and they have zero passion and interest for the game. Is it time to hang it up (yes). At the end now i realised that this isnt even a hottake

Tbh the ranked playerbase makes the game seem a lot worse than it actually is like if people weren't unbearable and egotistical the game would be really good

tbh i dont even think the playerbase is that unbearable and egotistical. I feel like it was way worse a few years ago. I just feel like the game is kind dying outside cn and people lose interest.

played a match yesterday. deadlock on my team told the Reyna to shut up. They start arguing. Reyna told deadlock to Kill himself and disconnected from the game. All this in round 2. People just don't care anymore

People just moving on. The meta's not the best for inits and sentis so half the playerbase are getting tired of seeing the same type of things from game to game. I can see how people feel so doomery about the game but I'm sticking with it. Let me tell you why;

  1. Valorant only has 6 years out, still a baby compared to DOTA, LoL, or CS etc.
  2. I trust the dev's are gonna make it better. Like all things, there will be phases of good and bad play. Everything fluctuates.
  3. We just had the biggest viewership ever on Masters London. The esport may be falling in America's and EMEA, but in Pacific and China it's still growing. Besides there is a new format coming for 2027.

So there is plenty of opportunity for players in the future. While some are turning away, others are grinding so they can prosper when the tides turn back around.
