Question for VCT teams that are not participating in any OFF-SEASON tournaments, why? Isn't participating just free money?

Doesn't get invited
Doesn't want to play in an open tournament
Doesn't want to travel or can't travel (Can be a lot of legal work like passports, visa etc.)

Also I hear some people say

But regardless every team should try their best to participate in one
