IEM is one of the most important csgo tournaments why would anyone invest big knowing the fact the tier 1 teams will be busy competing in berlin/champions
Some onliners are needed from tournament organizers at the very least. Dreamhack has theirs but it's not exactly something that justifies the existence of a roster.
Right, but that's still ass for the players. Considering most of them are in their young adulthood stage, difficult decisions need to be made on whether they'll risk the next 4 months of their life doing nothing for a moonshot chance on the next year's VCT, where you are not even guaranteed to be signed to begin with.
I mean that's how it's been with esports in terms of financials, but for those who actually want to get to the next level, they should still be able to compete with actual teams. The people on top will just keep accumulating experience, while they just wait for months. Doesn't feel right.
I think Riot will announce something for the teams that are completely out of VCT
that's right, if riot doesn't change anything competitive valulrant will die in less than 2 years, i don't think riot are that stupid.
if they don't franchise T2-3 will stay alive. I bet they'll get another tournie or fund big orgs to host short tournies
