that really doesn't qualify as an open qualifier imo as VRL has been going on since mid FEB meanwhile in most other regions it started as late as MAY almost 2.5months later

yeah i found it pretty weird how almost all the teams from the last challengers insta qualified but i mean i guess it makes sense since theyre the best around

yes I agree they are the best but this VRL model is quite lenient on the mediocre pro teams from the past Challengers and quite punishing for new upcoming teams It does make sense to give 4/12 or 6/12 slots to the teams from past challengers or worst case scenario 8/12 slots but 10/12 slots is just too much considering how fast the game and meta evolves and how fast the once dominating teams keep falling off

yeah thats the part that sucks, i think its pretty bad from riot to even have this kind of system when the teams that compete in promotion are invited, im pretty sure, instead of like qualifying

i think the VRLs and most teams being able to stay in the vct circuit is to mimic what next year will look like with franchise leagues, so no actual open qualifier & its much harder to qualify for the main events

yeah we agree its harder but it doesn't go well with the fast changes in the meta #5
