are ranks even fair at the end of the day?

saw tenz playing in a gold lobby weeks back and he couldn’t foresee certain plays and ended up getting out played

do ranks cause similar gameplay which creates habits and same situations?

seems some plat1 players could keep up if they were given the chance

why doesn’t riot just put everyone in the same quad and allow the best to rise??

I've played on a diamond account as a Gold 1 player and dominated those games. Then came back to Gold/Silver lobby and got destroyed. I do believe higher level gameplay only works against players with good habits. Certain positioning or rotations are rare in higher elo than low elo and so you would never expect someone to be in a corner but guess whatever they stood there and got 4 headshots. Ranks are a limitation in my opinion

It's like that on most fps games. Same shti on siege, and cs. going from high elo to low elo, you can just aim diff them in every encounter, but never try to outsmart them. They'll be in every corner you dont expect, and will push when you never would. higher elo is easier to predict what the enemies are going to do, and how they push.

In reality though, the imm, or diamond player will always rail the gold player. It's more of a meme at this point. It's just high elo players play the game more predictably, and tend to keep at that pace they're used to. Lower elo just do random shit, which is hard to get a read on.

yeah I agree. there’s probably so much untapped talent in gold/plat that are a product of unfair ranks

ranking system are naturally oppressive.

riot should make it that if you get enough good “karma” you get a week trial in a rank two times as high. like a raffle placement

Example if you’re gold you get a chance in diamond for a week and if you keep up you stay:

Probably because ranked isn't like pro play anyway. Individual playmaking is how people play ranked, while pro play is way more focused on teamwork.

The game puts you in the rank you belong in. Everyone gets shitty teamates, everyone has bad luck. It doesn't only happen to you. There are measures in place to ensure you end up at the rank of your skill level. I.E. RR differences and being put in higher rank lobbies.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you but if you can't rank up you're simply not good enough.

It's not about talented players in gold, well for sure there are. The example this post speaks of, is pro players and high elo players saying they cant beat golds, or low elo. It's not that they cant, it's that they play reckless and play how they play in higher elo, which is following how enemies tend to play in that elo.

I've done it in siege. I've been high elo in siege, and went on a low elo account to play with a friend. I couldn't read the enemies for shit, and wasn't doing well. They didn't have good mechanics, but are hard to read. All I had to do was not play like I was better, and just play properly. As soon as a high elo person does that, they most likely wont win.

The one issue I had when playing against golds, is not knowing how they played, it tilted me that what they were doing worked. It isn't a consistent way to play, but it can throw you off so easily. After having my shit wrecked in siege by golds, I just learned to not try to outplay them, and just play brainless against them diffing them with aim.

If Riot just put all of the skill levels into 1 pool then the poor irons would be getting shit on by immortal/radiants every other game and all the mid elo's would never go far because they're always being held back by their significantly worse teammates and then the game would become super sweat-oriented and unfun (not to mention it would be nearly impossible to go far). If you wanna play like that then go play unrated and stop whining abt the ranked system lol.

Only noobs and non-competitive players care about rank. Your rank does not determine how well you play with an actual team against another actual team.

Besides, there is no requirement to form your own team and start scrimming. There are iron, bronze, silver, gold, plat, diamond, immortal and radiant scrims. Rank doesnt mean shit. Your skill when playing with 9 random player means jackshit. If you actually cared about getting better, just start scrimming.

Make a team and play against a team that has been playing for more than a month and youll get shit on, regardless of what your rank and their rank is. Ive beaten like 5 radiant teams in scrims when my entire team was diamond 3/immortal 1 back then.

No one gives a shit about what your ELO is and neither should you. Maybe stop complaining and get good.
