Why is the tournament format so damn confusing
Split overhaul patch
ideekae [#1]Why is the tournament format so damn confusing
+1, if somebody like xLinksz can help clarify this format please reply
Is this the first main qualifier for the main event? As in, there will be challenger 2 and 3 and out of those three challenger tournaments you are gonna have 8 teams that will make it to the main event? Or is this the main event?
Also, is brazil already at the last stage pls this is so confusing and vlr.gg is doing a pretty bad job

Challenger 1 stage 1 4 teams advance to Challenger 1 stage 2 (and don't need to play open qualifys again) - Stage 2 (4 teams from 1st Stage and 4 from another open qualify) Top 4 teams advance to Masters Regional (the big event) and last 4 advance to Stage 3 - Stage 3 (last 4 teams from stage 2 + 4 teams from another open qualify) Top 4 advance do the Masters Regional
Masters Regional 8 teams 4 from stage 2 and 4 from stage 3
All teams in Masters win points to Worlds Championship
3 Masters Regional with the same format but the 3rd don't give points to Worlds but top 3 from NA will play the Masters International (Masters International give points to Worlds)

Ok this is super convoluted and unnecessarily complicated but I think I've finally got it.

yes, bad format tbh
So much unnecessary qualifys
Teams with face each other so many times
Irrelevant matchs
And we will only see international games at the end of the year
Whoever did this is a joke...

This could end up killing the competitive in the game.

copy success of League of Legends
nitr00 [#8]copy success of League of Legends
FPS is not MOBA
and
We don't have open qualifys with 500 teams in LoL wtf
Only a few teams, and they receive support directly from Riot Games
Also LoL format is simple and easy to understand and VCT it's consufing and pure trash

Not necessarily, if you think about it what Riot is doing theyre cementing the top teams for the beginning of the game. The idea behind things like the Valorant First Class is to create lore and legends within the scene. If you get through these qualis and get all the way to challengers you'll undoubtedly become popular and bring people over to the scene.
