True, but from a legal standpoint, why talk when you don't need to. Riot isn't the law so why risk saying something stupid by accident, as your words can be used against you. Also the fallacy of "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear," is a really bad to live your life on :P

the investigation by riot doesn't consist of trapping him alone in a dark room until he confesses, a lot of it would go through his legal team regardless

You’re twisting my words again. I never said they are trying to trap him and pull a “gotcha.” I'm saying his legal team would probably rather have him say nothing than say anything EVEN IF everything goes thru the team. Human error exists and by him saying nothing, there's no risk.
