Out of the 5 newest released agents, only 2 found its place in majority team's comp
Neon- Baring a few teams no one plays it + it has little to no impact, not suitable for pro play
Chamber- Excellent agent, provided an alternative to teams who used jett as their awper (optic, TL)
KAY/O- Now this is interesting, some teams play him and it has a huge impact imo but still its not mainstream and teams still dont prefer him
Astra- The most irritating agent, made the game incredibly slow, every team used to play her but after the nerf, i havent seen a lot teams use her
Yoru - Nothing for him

Teams are still preferring Beta agents over newly released ones

Some teams said earlier that Yoru's good rn, especially his Bind pick, but most of the teams didn't have time to practice with him.

Kayo and Chamber are pretty good and duelistwise is hard to replace Jett and Raze

Guys, the next agent I think will enter the meta, because his objective is to face Sova.

Yes I know that some might say Neon had a goal of doing the same with Jett, but from what I've read about the new agent's skills it looks like it's going to be a good feud between her and Sova.

Now Chamber is very picked on Breeze and Icebox from what I see and I don't think he was used little.

Yoru, I think this character is hopeless. Here in the Brazilian ranked he is a lot of meme.

Astra, simply the most stolen agent ever released before the nerf, and all teams used the ones that didn't, lost matches most times.

Kay-O, I think I'll be the next agent to get a nerf because when there's a team that knows how to use it (most tier-S teams), they win the match easily.
My opinion

Neon, few teams know how to use it, but the ones that know how to use it, they play very well. However it is easily countered by a Kay-O for this and other reasons I think Kay-O will be the next agent to get nerfed.

i only saw m3c play neon on split and well deffo underperformed with that agent
optic used her and umm it was fine but we still dont have enough data bout her

how many teams prefer running kayo over sova? very few skye and sova dominates the initiator segment altho i firmly believe that more and more teams have started using kayo and using him as a duelist

bro kayo isn't a sova replacement. It's a flex agent. It's already a standard pick in ascent and a lot of teams use it on other maps like icebox, split, etc.
d3ffo underperformed on neon because he has been playing with a severe back injury plus he was very actively creating space and entrying. It's a false conception that duelist not fragging out = bad performance. Even then, other teams like OpTic and PRX have been using it with great success. It's been out for only a few months and it usually takes some time for teams to adapt new agents that arent 1 to 1 replacements into their comps. Just give it some time and we'll see Neon becoming more and more popular.

I don't agree with this take, in all honesty.

Neon has a lot of impact in the right hands and if teams play around her to allow for fast rotations and site entries properly, she is viable. However, she needs a slight buff as she's stuck at that not entirely a duelist role.

Chamber take is on point, as he was created with exactly that thing in mind.

KAY/O not being mainstream is far from the truth as he's the most picked initiator behind Sova during the masters, whose kit makes him a necessity 90% of the time. Teams that utilize him, do it fairly well and efficiently, so he is more than mainstream.

Astra is still viable, tho controller mains will go through an adjustment period to get used to her new timings. That's why we still see her used sometimes on maps where her smokes are most viable.

Yoru's future depends entirely on teams' willingness to put the work in scrims and adapt to his outplay potential. Where ranked players treat him as a troll or a meme pick, his kit now offers a lot of initiator-duelist combo potential, and could easily be the secondary duelist pick, or even a primary option if, again, teams are willing to put the work in for his outplay and entry potential.

Chamber-41%; Kayo-34% pick rate, just below Sova. Even Breach is more picked than Skye.

KAYO not mainstream? what are you smoking? it's more preferred over skye lmfao

neon depends on team comps and how you are going to use it, d3ffo used it well in spilt in emea vct and victor is playing neon so well in some maps
these teams have figured out how to use neon and have practiced with it

astra is still being used, it has become a mainstay on some maps like split

literally every team is playing kay/o xD barely any team still play Skype even though she's still broken
and neon isn't good for competitive play?

Why is Astra dropped so hard (especially NA). She is not the super controller anymore, but still good for set ups and combinations

People need more time to figure out the timings with her stars, so they lean into more comfortable picks of Omen and Brim for the time being.

kayo has the best flashes in the game wdym not mainstream. His whole kit is really really good.

i mean they had to nerf astra into the ground and some teams have still made her viable. Also, kayo is in like 60% of comps for maps like ascent, breeze and split and is considered the best initiator after sova. So apart from the duelist role, the new agents that have been released have successfully cemented their spots in pro play.
