I'm wondering why malaysian teams are pretty weak compared to the singaporeans one, for example the team kingsmen and todak didn't even get out of group stage in the MY/SG challengers. Is there perhaps any reason why these teams doesn't do as good as the singaporeans one? Very curious.

Well that's only bleed and prx with like 2 indo and 1 malay, but other than that even a no name aingaporean team did better than kingsmen and todak

Well wasn't that in some random tier 3 tournament? It's just sad when it matter the most malaysian teams always underperform.

MY has really good players , but a lack of funding make them not be able to afford a coach, same with todak

I would assume bad work ethic and lack of drive as Todak is big in MY as a brand but consistently does bad in VCT nowadays.

Malaysia focus more on mobile than pc games. According to 1 of my friends (ex lol-pro player) sponsors want to see instant result and since pc scene is not as develop as mobile most sponsors are hesitant to invest into it.

those sponsors have brain damage.

same as Indonesia, just buy a cheap Xiaomi phone and go pro LMFAO.
But really, tho. mobile games is more cheap than PC games from the budgeting

from what i know its mostly because malaysia has a lack of sponsors / investments despite there being a pretty decent talent pool to pick from, like a malaysian player from Kingsmen ( theDoctorr ) was bought / transfer to Action PH ( 1 of philipines best teams rn ). Theres also that lack of drive from Organizations and players to strive for better. Slowly the better malaysian players are being poached from other regions in SEA 1 by 1, leaving an even lower incentive to invest in malaysia itself.

im also pretty sure kingsmen is disbanding as an org since they just dropped thedoctorr , riza and nomfu and they also dropped their mlbb roster

ya it seems like it, only 3 players left. Or theres another prospect which is kingsmen as an org all-in on Valorant, looking for up and coming malaysian players

#28

maybe moosey since nomfu retired and moosey plays duel and justa which was their old smokes player is playing again so i think they need one more player , prob someone from madness

hopefully, right now kingsmen is probably malaysia best hope as an ORG since orange-esports is gone? i still see their pc-cafes alive but im not sure if they are still involved in esport much

All it takes right now is for a no-name malaysian team to explode into the scene for it to be heavily developed, such as in Dota 2 where malaysia have produced some of the greatest talents and is a staple of the game

Even now no more tier 1 Malaysia dota team. All either go china or sg

sadly low investment from Malaysian firms since yk, most are still in a old-fashioned way of thinking ( looking down on e-sports ). However the talent pool was really deep, with many TI winning teams / runner-ups usually containing 1 or 2 Malaysian players.

Edit : Even OG had a Malaysian player in place of Ana throughout the time he was not there

IMO, really Malaysia's scene was really good, the proof is the Malay team was fought very hard at First Strike, after that. They really drop too hard and get a lack of consistency and you know, MY was merging with SG, so too much competition. Kingsmen and Todak is the notable mention but I hope MY team get to fight back again in the APAC scene

Malaysia scene is going downhill with orgs, KINGSMEN just disbanded their roster but there was no announcement from the org,

The problem with sea teams is that they haven't got any sort of org support, there aren't many investors to invest in this
