Why does Acend get Circuit Points

Like I understand they competed in the group stage of EMEA, but they qualified through last years VCT season, the only thing they had set to achieve was qualify for playoffs and they didn't even do that. Technically speaking Acend have achieve literally nothing this season while other teams had to fight for their spot into the group stage. To me it seems that Acend don't deserve the circuit points.

So they won Champions last year and they don't even deserve to get circuit points for a tournament they rightfully were invited to?

Acend didnt finish last in their group, and therefore did better than other teams that did accrue series points and that had to qualify through the qualifers. So the points they earned are deserved.
