Why does BR/LATAM have a LCQ slot in iceland?

Why does LATAM/BR have their own LCQ slot for Reykjavik? Am I missing something?

Because last year BR had 2 slots and LATAM 1, so they changed 1 of the BR spots to a LCQ spot between BR and LATAM. This happened because the lack of results from BR and good results from KRU.

that slot was supposed to be brazil's slot however, brazil shit the bed when it came to international tournaments and at the same time LATAM did well. instead of taking a slot away from brazil riot just decided to hold an LCQ between latam and brazil to make it fair

Brazil had 2 slots last year, now they have 1 + LCQ, LATAM now have 1 + LCQ aswell, I don't think it's bad, i mean, i prefer a fight between LATAM and BR than a free spot to brazil, historically second team in brazil has always been much weaker than 1st so.
