if ur 3rd/4th seed the high seed competition is teams that became good recently so you can try to break their mental and have them collapse
(karmine corp, tyloo, jdg, GE-ish, liquid)
you also dodge the perennial contenders that came in off champs points as a 3rd seed like prx and edg, so it makes for a (relatively) easy groups run
they aren’t gonna intentionally sabotage especially nrg who have 0 regionals
why would they want to scrim those teams instead of scrimming actually good teams at home
