valorant match length

i’ve been watching blast recently and like the longer length of csgo matches. valorant pro play is so dependent on pistols and results in less gun rounds to turn things around. is it feasible to make valorant pro play 30 rounds while leaving public competitive matches at 24? is that just a dumb idea?

Making them longer? Debatable. Making pro and public comp different lenghts? HELL NO

Val rounds are too inconsitent I agree but CSGO matches take wayy to long and have less hype maps

The length of games in CS:GO is the very reason Valorant match is played with 24 rounds and not 30 since the beginning.

Pro play should be every round 5000 creds, no pistols, no ecos, evebody on vandals / phantoms / ops, so we watch the actual gameplay and not some team winning because of dumb momentum while the opposite side just shit-buys every 2nd round and can't break the streak

Many will disagree but this would make the games a lot more entertaining, right now if you take both pistols you basically won, random shit

pretty opinionated, no definitive "x game better than y game"

Yeah let's just throw out one of the main mechanics.

If you think economy in a tactical shooter is not needed then go watch Rainbow 6 or something instead

In Valorant economy is dogshit and the series are always random, it's just about who wins a pistol or a lucky clutch
They should either make more rounds or give more money after a team loses a round

Or do like I said, anything else is unacceptable
You just don't realize how many storylines from past year's VCT would change if some team won pistol at some moment

When Valorant was just coming out there was a vivid discussion in the CS:GO community regarding the length of the pro matches, especially with three-mappers almost always going over 3 hours.

Sure it's to make games more appealing, but also pro games, so they won't take as long. Especially since Valorant has so far utilized BO5s a lot more freely than CS:GO does.

it’s not meant to be opinionated. i’m simply discussing a single aspect of the cs/val: number of rounds.

You clearly chose a side, outright claiming that you like the longer csgo matches, then proceed to paint a pessimistic view on Valorant by saying things like "valorant play is so dependent on pistols and results in less gun rounds to turn things around."

In CS a grand final is the same length as a regular match because a Bo5 in CS is just too long. For me it makes grand finals feel less unique. So, I like the 24 round system better.

it’s one fucking aspect of the game dude. 24 vs 30 rounds. And if you REALLY want an opinion, I prefer valorant because I’ve only played 15 hours of CSGO in my life. neither game is bad, and it’s perfectly reasonable to have positive and negative views on aspects of both. chill out for me dude.

I hate the fact ESL forces the idea of a BO5 final in CS. There was a few good ones (like the VP - SK final of EPICENTER 2017), but mostly they end up just being either a 3-0 sweep (so BO3 would be sufficient), or 5 one-sided maps and the series takes like 6 hours anyway.

Valo match length fits the BO5 system a lot more

bruh all the guy said was that it was opiniated which game you prefer. you then started trying to argue otherwise by saying "it's not meant to be opiniated" (even tho i'm 99% sure it matters on a person which game you prefer and therefore opiniated)

they then respectfully defended their reasoning, saying that you originally were not just "simply discussing a single aspect of cs/val" but were actually putting in your own opinions into it by saying that you "like the longer length of csgo matches" which strongly contradicts your earlier claims of saying it's not opiniated.

and then you proceed to curse away and have the audacity to say that they're the ones who need to chill out
