I always thought the champs curse is about teams changing players after winning champs. In that case, with som's retirement, NRG do fall under the curse.
ACEND never looked the same after champs.
LOUD had forced changes as Sacy and pAncada joined SEN.
EG, blew up in a way.
EDG, the Simon incident.
If my understanding is wrong and champs curse is just about teams not being good or not making internationals after winning champs, then Loud should be the first team to beat the champs curse right? Loud went to three (four) international events after winning champs.
- Lock//in (Invitational Sure, but they made top 2)
- Masters Tokyo (7th-8th, but they did make it)
- Champs 23 (Top 3)
- Master Madrid (Top 4)
Now, I am not trying to undermine current NRG in any way. They are very, very good.
I just don't understand what people mean when they say champs curse.
