Apparently there's a rule about academy teams not being able to compete and makes sense... academy teams are like the backup roster in case a player from the main roster doesn't want to play with the team once their contract ends (or gets buyed by another org). They pick the player that fills the role and figure out how to make the team work. There's no need for the org to make them play in a qualifier, their academy teams use is to keep decent players from going to another teams for a b plan (or for them to not destroy their main roster like TSM did xd).
About fem teams, they can play if their org is already qualified. If they advance, at least the org knows how good or bad their roster is compared to the teams in the main circuit.

that makes sense.. just feel bad for players having to make the tough choice of either getting salary on academy team or play in the biggest tourneys.. specially when the orgs are tier2/3 who signed the players just to get a buyout from bigger orgs

no
org has an academy team is good for player
usually, org signed an unknown player that still too young, don't have name yet & want to go pro

it's not a tough choice, it's just a choice, so they can get a salary while still playing valorant

specially when the orgs are tier2/3 who signed the players just to get a buyout from bigger orgs
no
if t2/t3 org don't signed them, then maybe that player can't make to t1 org

it's good for regeneration

They can't just compete under a different name because any players signed by orgs competing can't compete for a different team. That's why ethos couldn't play in VCT.
