My Take on Envy and Inspire

I don't think Riot should allow orgs to lose most of the Ascension winning players. There should be a condition of having all the players or atleas 3 (except if more than 2 are underage). Because then what is the fucking point of grinding in tier 2 and winning and then kicked out at barely a bad performance??

It's not like there is lack of talent in tier 1 and so you might be picked. No. Most of the time those players will be grinding tier 2 again. The whole identity and playstyle of RANKERS depended on them being outcasts and ran grinders. Now you only have Eggster and Poppin (1 or both of these are gonna get thrown out as well).

I don't really like Inspire but as a player he is solid. And given the egos on this Envy roster, I doubt it was just him being the problem, because he was definitely not performance wise. I think the org just jumped on the opportunity to get Demon1 to stay relevant in Valorant because, let's be honest, I don't think they are relevant in many other esports (i might be wrong).

They wanted Demon1 and saw that senti to senti replacement is the only way it's gonna work so they cut him lmao.

Eny just snaked their way into franchising and will milk the Riot money and go out of franchising like nothing happened

This rule has been removed from the rulebook and has been gone for over a year. I thought it was a good rule, but they removed it about a year ago. Maybe two

I mean your statement might be well intended but it's too idealistic and wrong, EnvyUS is an OG org in the E-Sports scene across different games, the original core Optic/NRG Reikjavik winner roster was EnvyUS before the latest iterations of it.

This is a business and not a very profitable one, Orgs want to win and when most of them are operating in the red and on losses, they will usually take these decisions that won't sit well with fans. Some Orgs don't want to invest much and get maximum profits (EG lmao) and some other orgs are associated with success/popularity or both across different games (FNATIC, T1, Optic, EnvyUS, NRG, G2, GenG, Sentinels, PaperRex, etc.)

RIOT is lazy and most of the time dumb with how they manage things to our eyes, but i think you have to see it from their perspective as well, Orgs are spending the big bucks in their scene or bringing massive viewership/sponsors (That's why they will get KOI back in VCT soon) so ofc they will allow them to do whatever they want with the players as long as they meet the legal/business standards of each region.

Nobody told Envy to spend big bucks on Keznit lmao or Demon1 (Now he might be affordable). Also, only 4 orgs win out of 40. Targeting to win is the 'idealistic' thing not the practical. Practical would be to keep rankers identity, create merch off their popularity due to streaming build a brand with them. ALSOOO. Skins sold.

I have been watching since First Strike so I know who Envy is but they have been forgotten since they became optic. Even before optic, they were not popular because of the org brand but because of how good the team was.

Envy could have just hired a good 5th and a temp 4th until canezerra comes in. Also, Demon1 might work out and I would sound stupid in hindsight but this was a bad move from POV of players and Fans.

I mean, hiring a good 5th temp could still be the case, maybe demon1 was the one that was available the fastest. I won't say that i agree or disagree with benching BabyJ because i don't know the specifics, but is not like he doesn't have a history of being troublesome as a teammate doesn't matter how many name changes he goes across. It's clear that performance is not the metric because Eggster is still in the team and BabyJ is not.

There's so much more to having a team than just the brand, because maybe that was Rankers goal as a roster building a brand as they were streamers but maybe Envy as an org is aiming to win and saw the easier opportunity to get into T1 picking an ascended roster as G2 did in their moment with The Guard's roster.

Winning as term has so many layers, it could be trophies, popularity or just money, so depends on what the org wants, maybe Envy just wants to hire known names and make bank out of t-shirts and merch or something else, a team of 5 streamers doesn't mean that they will sell merch just because they're streamers, we aint talking about Tenz, tarik or Demon1 whose 10/12k viewership is massive compared to the 1k that is BabyJ's average.

Mistake 1: Benching their best player (inspire).
Mistake 2: Not putting Demon1 on Sentinel (chamber) — he still performed anyway.
Mistake 3: Keeping Rossy when the 2026 IGLs also need a strong aim.
Mistake 4: Didn’t sub Demon1 in for their weakest player / worst stats, stats not everything, but it's something (Egg guy).
