being racist/xenophobic to french people?
i know it's funny and all, as a matter of fact i've done the "L french" "fr*nch" shit myself.
but like, it's really weird how people are selectively okay with racism/xenophobia against certain races/nationalities.
i know a lot of french people are insufferable even on val and are racist themselves but still.
same thing for racism against south asians on twitter. shit's a whole mess

I can see how it can easily become not banter if it's just lazy comments to straight up harassment. It's banter until it is not funny and that just depends on the French person and the person making the jokes. It does remind me of how people would make the "bott'o'wu'ah" jokes for British people and it would get very old quickly. It's not even like it's upsetting, but it's just such a low hanging fruit joke that's been played out.

as a person that lived in quebec in the past its kinda sad ngl
as someone who has been to france the people were quite nice and it was a lovely place to visit
ive always wanted to visit france at least once in my life
though its not near the top of my bucket list
I hate to be the devil's advocate but Indians not majority but a lot of them are extremely racist and discriminating towards their own people due to regional and religion and caste bias and so sometimes it's a great thing to see those same shitheads get angry and rant over people being racist towards them
