Opinion: Valorant has seeding/bracketing issues

Well I made the mistake of assuming that Group stage was seeded. Instead it is random, therefore it is better to interpret my thing as what Riot allowed to happen rather than how they organized the tournament

For comparison, the CS major is also single elims for the playoffs. The only difference is that the teams that won in the challengers and legends stages through the swiss-system are just overall better that it doesn't matter which team is paired with who. This becomes a problem when you want regional representation in Masters/Champions which Riot does rather than the "true best teams" fighting it out.

I'm fine with the regional slots because that's good at getting all the international fans excited and it's interesting to see how the regions compare, just I don't think it's a good idea in the long term to have such weird brackets when there are only 3 international tournaments a year. Too much inconsistency will only cause problems later imo.

True. Like you said, these weird brackets can be avoided if these teams were allowed to play each other more often. Unfortunately I also agree that Riot will have to focus more on competitiveness over viewership to make this possible.

Rito this year made it in such a way that 2 emea teams did not face off in the quaters....sad as the emea teams were too much for the sea teams to handle.That being said...it was the problem of the draw...not riot,And if not for kru,there was potentially a 4 emea semi final
