it depends on their mental
if their mental is 10/10 close first
if its anywhere below 8/10 2nd behind fnc
if its anywhere below 5/10 3rd behind nrg
only if they full tilt are they worse than drxfor me a PRX 3rd is happy enough, honestly i’ve seen my team have fun already at toronto, and during groups, and that’s more heartwarming, but if they win then that would be absolutely beautiful. it would be heartbreaking if they exit champs, especially if one of the boys is having an off game. plus prx winning would be an insane story given their map pool rn and how good fnatic is looking. but if we reach the GF i’ll be ecstatic already
in all fairness, this was expected.
-
PRX's map pool
Ascent, Abyss, Bind, Corrode, Haven, Lotus, Sunset
sunset, their best map is permabanned every game
people found out how to beat them on bind
prx's lotus is dying
their ascent is sooooooo shaky
corrode is eh.
they didn't get a chance to play their permaban
with such a small pool of good maps, all it takes is an off-day or a life game from one of the opponents to beat PRX. -
TILTING and PRESSURE and CHOOOOOOKINGGGGG
i haven't seen anyone smile in so long, it feels like they aren't playing to have fun, but rather to defend their international title
going into toronto, they had 0 expectations. they were third seed, barely making it into stage 1 playoffs, and scraped into toronto. at toronto, they just play to go as far as they can
but now their mental is gone. idk where panda went, and maybe this is because mini is in there now, but this isn't the prx i remember that 2-0ed their way to the grand finals of toronto.
when prx played in like. any other tournament, they were absolute mentality monsters 1. cos of panda but also 2. they had nothing to prove. and because of this they had this inevitability around them, sorta like liverpool last season where if they went behind you were sure they would comeback and win
after the fnc game, this evaporated. -
individual inconsistency (patmen and something)
PRX's x-factor in toronto was 100% patmen. this guy would go into a game, be on 2hp in a 1v2, and you had full confidence he would clutch.
every prx fan remembers the 1v3 against G2 on split, and the 1v2 on icebox v fnatic
except. that isn't the patmen that came to champs. this patmen is too hyperfocused on trying to prove himself and prove that he isn't a fluker, and has just been mid all champs. i only remember him stepping up was...idk when. i'm going to be honest.
also. my glorius king ilyasan. you did your best. i'm gonna be honest, and i loved watching you. but youre doing too well. like alecks said during toronto, sometimes you're trying too hard eh. the only thing that can explain such a dip in form in an op crutch player is a generational mindset change that affects your focus this bad. so. yeah. as much as i hate to sound like a kpop prx fan, nt bro.
BUT IT'S BEEN A GOOD YEAR
the backlash is only this hard because we rose too high
i wasn't a hardcore vct fan in 2024, but we were dogshit, bombing out of shanghai and champs
fast forward to june, and we're champions of the world.
patmen, you've gone from being a t2 rookie to masters winner in 1 tournament, and it was well-deserved.
something, you had the entire valorant community agreeing you were the best player in the world for a period of time.
the prx era might not have started, but the generational comeback from DFM 13-1 to PRX 3-1 FNC has to be studied, and will be studied for many more years of VCT and the many people that get into this beautiful game. who would've thought back then that we would be masters winners, stage 2 winners, and a favourite in champs?
