Emea Challenger and the ascension points are one of the worst formats i have ever seen in my life. Like wtf are this groups that only one team qualifies to playoffs. Some groups of 3 teams other of 4 teams. Why is raad un ascension if they lost to TU ?

At the start of the year i saw this format and think it will be better but they just want to ruin everything

Maybe it's based of seedings or something?

nah but you cant base this format on seeding
the "seeding" is done in different regions with vastly different strengths (and the groups arent even evenly seeded since its 5 or 6 "first seeds")

just take the next 2 highest teams by ascension points, they literally have it all balanced why did they decide on 14 teams

Yea its horrible.

The core issue is just the amount of time they have since they have to fit it between t1 stages.
Formats with 12 and 14 teams are surprisingly difficult to design - even more so if you want to limit yourself to as few games as possible

But the current format just isnt acceptable so they HAVE to iterate.
Current format is FAR too seeding dependent... which is a problem when you cant seed since teams dont play each other before the international stages.

Id personally expect we see 3 games at the same time next year in order to allow for more formats.

MENA gives too many points cuz they didnt have split 1
ra'ad is in its own region of GCC iirc and they played a big event with both mena teams where ra'ad lost(cuz gcc is easier)
these groups are horrendous ngl

Yeah I like these emea "masters" events but not including MENA from the start was incredibly weird and having 1 team per group make playoffs is incredibly uncompetitive guess whoever is in charge manages Spain too xd
