Champs Points

What's the point in giving 7 and 5 points to top 2 in stage 2 if they will either way go to Champs?

I think to just show general performance over the season with the champs points, so you have something to look back on. Although they should also put this into Champs so we get a Yearly Champion

I thought qualiying for champs will also be considered in relegation. What if 2 ascension teams make champs ,but one with less points wins it, That's why i think champs placement also is a factor.
